Re: FTD and Bruce Jackson soundboard release of two shows
I hope it isn’t until at least then, if not March.
TTWII was a big chunk of money.
I managed the something for everybody set and Nashville.
Another expensive book/cd right now or next month is out of my reach.
I’ve also got the kid Galahad sessions and the last two concert FTD’s stuck at a receiver at the USA border. Cant get those until the pandemic eases and the border opens.
Always Elvis

What is the deal with the "Trilogy" footage from Searcher? Do any of you know the source? Length from this angle?

Re: FTD and Bruce Jackson soundboard release of two shows
The two biggest dealers in the U.K. do not have it currently listed for ordering and this latest info about a release seems to go against the announcement that FTD put out a few weeks ago when they said that nothing more until next year due to the problems caused by Covid.

I as sorry to hear about your cds stuck at the border. There is no way the package can be forwarded to you?ForeverElvis wrote: ↑Thu Dec 10, 2020 2:43 amI hope it isn’t until at least then, if not March.

Thanks Mike
It sucks that they’re stuck. By the time the pandemic eases and the border opens it’ll be spring and it will have been a year since I ordered them.
Along with those items: Blu-ray’s of King Creole, Twilight Time’s issues of Peyton Place and Beneath The 12 Mile Reef, BluRay’s of The Robe and The Bible as well.
I looked into having a company forward them but they wanted $60 a package!!! (There are 4 packages)
The receiver won’t mail them, not possible with customs paperwork and not being the original sender. So I have to wait- thank goodness they’re holding them.
TTWII- I really enjoyed the CDs, they sound terrific. The books are excellent but too many similar pics give the impression of padding to get two books out of it. I found the text very informative regarding film and audio recordings.
But, the price was way too much. With shipping it totaled $440 CDN. The threshold for this should be $250 CDN.

Nothing surprizes me in these times with unbelievable delays for everything. Personally i am waiting for 3cd's and 2 dvd's ordered back in August. .. 2020 is an "unbelievable" year for slow delivery and the "usual" Covid delay exuse

My problem is the USA/Canada border closed. This prevents me from going across to a receiver I had my items from Graceland sent to, to save money on shipping charges.

Re: FTD and Bruce Jackson soundboard release of two shows
I pass on with this one. I spend way too much money on Elvis product this year. Especially when i'm feel forced by "very limited" etc, don't push me. My other bills are also very limited. Too bad because i like the shows but i don't want the book. Not gonna pay 138 euro's for two shows. the 3th cd is bull... not gonna play that one anyway.
It is probably the deal with the Jackson family. FTD could release the shows only in combination of the book.

Re: FTD and Bruce Jackson soundboard release of two shows
It's the other way around for me: I'm interested in the book and not so much in the shows (the Atlanta show sounds realy bad judging from the samples we've heard).
But it's too expensive.

A few books will show up on ebay since some fans bought it already and will now go for the FTD package.Sebastian E wrote: ↑Thu Dec 10, 2020 11:59 amIt's the other way around for me: I'm interested in the book and not so much in the shows (the Atlanta show sounds realy bad judging from the samples we've heard).

Re: FTD and Bruce Jackson soundboard release of two shows
Not being able to afford it is an understandable reason not to get it. However, to this fan, sound quality is not a reason for me. I'll take the worst sounding soundboard recording there is and it will still beat this by a mile.Sebastian E wrote: ↑Thu Dec 10, 2020 11:59 amIt's the other way around for me: I'm interested in the book and not so much in the shows (the Atlanta show sounds really bad judging from the samples we've heard).

I'm not passing anything up from that last tour of 1976, especially if it's released as a soundboard recording.

Re: FTD and Bruce Jackson soundboard release of two shows
I can afford it easily, but I am not willing to pay the (rumored) price.
Moreover, I prefer a good sounding audience recording over a bad sounding soundboard recording (that's not saying that the Atlanta audience recording is good, though).
Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

I think the interesting opportunity here is creating a matrix.Rob wrote: ↑Thu Dec 10, 2020 2:52 pmThat makes two of us.Sebastian E wrote: ↑Thu Dec 10, 2020 2:48 pmI prefer a good sounding audience recording over a bad sounding soundboard recording.
By mixing in the audience recording by 20/30% only the balance will improve (less piano heavy) and the pretty crazy Atlanta audience will be turned up a bit.

Re: FTD and Bruce Jackson soundboard release of two shows
Matrixes work best with clear soundboards and really ambient ARs so I’m not sure the results would be that great. But it would certainly be worth a try, even sub-par recordings can sometimes turn out wellRobert wrote:I think the interesting opportunity here is creating a matrix.Rob wrote: ↑Thu Dec 10, 2020 2:52 pmThat makes two of us.Sebastian E wrote: ↑Thu Dec 10, 2020 2:48 pmI prefer a good sounding audience recording over a bad sounding soundboard recording.

"FTD has not been able to give us the total price, because this time the shipment will be made from Australia directly, we estimate that it will be around 125/130 euros + shipping. As always, we will try to offer partners the best possible price"
If you buy it at the education shop, it costs EUR92,52, more shipping: EUR48,00 by standard mail and EUR56,41 by express mail, only the book. So I think the price is not too much, because you have the boook and the 3 CDs.

Re: FTD and Bruce Jackson soundboard release of two shows
Once again, FTD makes available much sought-after audio with an expensive book - just as it did with the TTWII rehearsals. "The audio is only ever a bonus to the book," so we were told not so long ago. What happened to that?
Accused of being "a nerd in his 20s." I wish.

Re: FTD and Bruce Jackson soundboard release of two shows
It is way expensive, as collecting Elvis, and all things involving Elvis have slowly but surely gone towards products and services for mostly the well-off. Elvis as a brand has gone from affordable, “for everyone”, accessible to all, all through his career and long after (to be fair: Colonel played a big part in that), to a whole different thing. Unless you’re good with budget audio/video stuff and the cheaper memorabilia junk only, you have to lay down the big bucks, over and over and over. IF you wanna keep up for the most part.
We pay more and more for less and less new stuff. It’s sad that many true-blue fans can’t keep up anymore... It drives a wedge, also... is if there isn’t enough divisions in society already.
People with a good amount of spending money who are Elvis fans are usually older, retired, I guess, no more mouths to feed, money to spend. I’m not one of those, anymore. But there are those much worse-off than me.
Those who want this set it’s been told should not wait too long, as there likely will not be a second run. Idk if this set will be worth it, honestly only a very few from this price category or any book/cd combo has been worth the sale price imo, ... but it’s just what I’ve read. Completists with the money to spend will not hesitate and also there will be those who order several copies to try and make a good buck on eBay etc to recoup the copy they keep for themselves.

Joe Krein interview with Sherril Nielsen: "YOU KNOW YOU FORGET HOW GOOD HE REALLY WAS. I SAID MY GOODNESS. YOU KNOW WHEN YOU ARE WITH HIM YOU ARE SO WRAPPED UP DOING THE SHOW, BUT HERE NOW 20 YEARS LATER, I HEAR HIM AND REALIZE WHAT A GREAT TALENT HE WAS. HE WAS THE REAL DEAL.

Steve, Is there someone here in the US that is selling this? I keep checking Graceland and ShopElvis but do not see it. Any suggestions? I agree that it is very expensive, but I would really like the concerts, especially the Atlanta show. Thankssteve in SC wrote: ↑Fri Dec 11, 2020 6:42 am
