We just have been confirmed by E-Mail the new DVD titled "Elvis Live" was released on January 5, 2010 in the US
The highlights of this DVD are footage filmed at the opening show of Madison Square Garden with sound.
"Elvis Live" will also featured NEVER BEFORE SEEN footage filmed during Elvis' rehearsals on March 31, 1972.
Note : Praising its quality and content but... it is a DVD-R and not a factory made DVD.
Absolutely stunning footage with sound of Madison Square Garden 6/10/72 (white suit)!
Never before seen footage of “on Tour” rehearsals at MGM studios in Hollywood,Ca.
The 1970 Houston,Texas interview more complete than ever before and beautiful quality!
A trip back in time with trailers from “On Tour” and commercials from the late 1970s!
Not only is the footage on this DVD all unreleased and never before seen,but the quality is unbelievably good.
Either professional quality or the nearest you can get to it!

Yes, the DVD was released during the Elvis week celebration in Memphis, various dealers in Memphis had this DVD available for purchase.

I will start out by saying, even tho this has already come to our attention this is a DVD-R.
Personally I am not sure why it would matter one way or another at this point. I am just satisfied that this rare footage is now available on DVD and anyone can do what they please with it.
Better having it, than not at all.

Chapter 1, starts out with comedian Jackie Kahane.
This lasts', for 55 seconds'.

Then the Sweet Inspirations are on next, where you get to see them and hear them perform most of the song named "Love The One, Your With".
This footage, lasts' just over two minutes, including a little bit of footage taken of the audience, just before the lights' go down for Elvis' entrance to the New York, Madison Square Garden stage.
The DVD is now clocking in at 3 minutes 10 seconds'.

Elvis enter(s) the stage, where we now for the first time, get to hear the original audio with this historic footage.
We see and hear Elvis perform "That's Alright" 80%,

"Proud Mary" 70%,

Polk Salad Annie "60%

In total, this footage lasts' 5 minutes and 34 seconds'. Total Madison Square Garden footage is 8 minutes' and 44 seconds.

Chapter 2
The Highlight.
Elvis in rehearsal March 31st 1972, we hear and see Elvis perform "Love Me", "Don't Be Cruel", "All Shook Up", "Heartbreak Hotel", "Teddy Bear" and "Hound Dog"








This footage clocks' in at 11 minutes, within that 11 minutes, there is approx. 45 seconds in total of green screen spread between songs.
The camera angle is band new, quality is mint and audio is excellent.
What more needs to be said.....??? It's Elvis and unreleased Elvis, at that !

Chapter 3

Houston Press Conference clocks' in at 8 minutes 58 seconds, Nothing new here that I could see. Tho it should be noted it is the first time we get to see this footage in this quality without any logo.


Chapter 4

"Elvis on Tour" trailer....nothing new here.


Chapter 5

Contains, late 70's and early 80's commercials promoting the 68' Comeback video, A Elvis Belt Buckle, some Elvis Jewelry and then finally a Elvis Special Double TV Album. this runs' approx 6 minutes and 30 seconds'. Neat to see, but it is what it is. Ahh but then there is more, last but not least, a rare interview clocking in at 1 minute and 23 seconds conducted by Tom Moffit with Elvis in 1962 to help promote the movie "Girls, Girls, Girls".
This is in mint quality and has excellent sound!

All in all , a Elvis DVD must !

Not enough rehearsal footage on this dvd to make it a worthwhile purchase... no "first time ever i saw your face" "help me make it through the night" or "young and beautiful" these are songs which we have never seen him sing in pro footage...we have seen him sing the other songs listed here numerous times.

Maybe that's because there might not be footage of him singing those songs live or in rehearsal? Plus, it's called "Live" which indicates why there's less non live footage.

He did rehearse those other three songs in that same session..surely they must be filmed also? It would just be more intresting in my opinion to see these being rehearsed as there is no live pro footage from the april tour of these songs.

I'm not saying that he didn't do them. I was implying that maybe they weren't filmed.

I Watched all the On tour Material last night (Thats all i need of this Elvis live dvd-r?) as we have All the other footage on various Tunzi offerings.
I was very happy as not only was the picture Quality a Good Tad better than the On tour material we have Unofficially. Starting of with Love me, We then get as Pep describes above, Heartbreak hotel, Teddy bear/dont be cruel, all shook up and hounddog. Great stuff Indeed But Another so called Bonus was that the turner prop notice wasnt as big! Lets hope we get much more coming our way.

Please note I have been getting a number of PMs ad emails regarding this DVD.
Here is the thing, i was originally sent a email for information regarding this DVD, however the email used is no longer working. Now, even tho I may have a copy now for my personal collection, sorry, I am not in a position to provide copies, as moderator it is not allowed.
The copy I obtainned was through a dealer in Memphis when I was there for Elvis' birthday celebration.
My guess is, this dvd will be available through any dealer you have dealt with in the past..If they do not have a copy yet, i'm sure in the near future they will eventually end up with one or you will be able to seek this out through other members or contacting other Elvis websites or maybe even find it on Ebay.
Bottom line, I am not the guy to get it from.

it sounds like digital samples are floating out there besides the 30sec of teddy bear / dont be cruel. anyone want to share a link or two with a fellow elvis fan?

i couldn't help myself

i have fixed up the sound on the footage with the audio from the madison releases so much better.


Also i did another mix with the original camera sound it's interesting because you can hear the cameraman talk to each other saying when a tape change is happening or who is shooting who.

This footage that has leaked is only 1 camera so when the camera is shooting the band don't get upset because the other camera is filming Elvis all the time
