In the U.K., the BPI have made 14 awards to The Beatles in 2021. The latest award for the single "Help" means total sales of over 1.3 million for the single - over 900k physical and now 400k downloads/streams. Here is the complete list of the others.
Elsewhere, in the USA, sales for the latest Let It Be re-issued album have reached 160k. This means that by the end of the year, total world sales are expected to be around 300k.
`
The latest in the series of Beatles album re-releases, REVOLVER, has come in at #2 on the U.K. mid week album chart with estimated sales of 13,850. Unfortunately, I don’t see it getting to the top when the full chart comes out on Friday, as the album at the top is from Taylor Swift which sold around 16k copies. But #2 is a pretty impressive achievement for an album that was first released 56 years ago. I suspect it will be a Top 5 entry when the next Billboard 200 chart is published next Tuesday with sales of around 60k. It sold over 10.5k on the day it was released in Japan.
So the album is already heading toward 100k worldwide within its first week of release.
But those sales have meant that initial stocks in the U.K. of the deluxe set have now sold out for On Line retailers. Amazon U.K. have a delivery date of between 2 and 3 weeks and HMV are now awaiting new deliveries with an unknown date. Bizarre.

Data I have received from Nielsen SoundScan, is that The Beatles have sold 72,100,000 albums (and 14.6 million digital tracks) in the U.S. since 1991 with over 15 million of that coming from their "1" compilation album. Released in November 2000, and Nielsen SoundScan began tracking US album sales in January 1991 the album is the fourth best-selling album in the US, and the best-selling album of the 2000s decade in the US.

From the OCC, In the U.K., The Beatles are a re-entry at Number 2 with a reissue of their Revolver album. The Liverpudlian music legends’ 1966 record topped the chart upon its initial release, remaining at Number 1 for seven consecutive weeks. Today, it vaults back into the Top 3 for the first time since December ’66 thanks to a Super Deluxe 4LP edition. The record also tops the Official Vinyl Albums Chart, proving the most-purchased LP on wax this week. Sales for the week are 21k. Interesting that if the album was based on physical sales alone, Revolver would be #1.
The album has come into the Swedish charts at #6, New Zealand st #2 and In the German Top 100 Longplay Charts, Revolver takes the top spot With the estimated US Sales of 60k that is likely to make a Top 5 entry in Bill lard 200 next Tuesday, Global sales since its release last Friday are just over 100k. Meanwhile, sales of the previous release, Let it Be in the US are now over 222k and Global sales at 367k.

Well that’s not totally unexpected for an album that is 56 years old and when compared to all the new albums that have also come in and are around. The Artic Monkeys have had a similar drop and at least Revolver hasn’t dropped out of the chart. It’s still on track to sell 150k globally by the end of the year, which is pretty impressive for an album that has sold over 7 million worldwide.
