Any photos from Baton Rouge, June 17th & 18th 1974?

Post by GaryP »

Wonder if anyone can help please, I’m trying to locate any photos from Elvis’ shows in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on June 17th & 18th 1974. I have only seen a couple from each show, on the elvisconcerts website. On the 17th Elvis wore the American Eagle suit and the Blue Rainbow suit the following day, there is no known audio for either show, it would be great to see if any other photos exist. I would be very grateful, thank you in advance.

whatsupdoc & Hans.......thank you so much, that’s fantastic, I hadn’t seen some of them before so I really appreciate it. Hans, the bottom shot from Ed Bonja always seemed to me to be out of focus, strange as his pics were normally crystal clear, maybe that’s just the way it is. Thanks again guys, if anyone has any others it would be great to see.

This is one of my favourite concert photos, I first seen this in the Elvis In 'Concert' double album from 1977 (I think the colonel might have had the photo slimmed down)

I've got this one from June 17.
740617 Baton Rouge (1).jpg
As far as I know but my knowledge is pending on what I read on this forum and on Internet, Elvis wore the specific belt of this jumpsuit and not the 2nd version of the Aloha one, so maybe the other pictures from whatsupdoc and Hans are from another place.

I've also got this one that should be from Baton Rouge. Even if I didn't knew where it has been taken, I supposed that it should be in Baton Rouge because Charlie seems to be in white.
740617 Baton Rouge (2) maybe to be confirmed.jpg

Sugarfoot, thanks for clearing that up. According to elvisconcerts.com the musicians wore white on the 17th. Love the bottom pic from gilles-tcb. Thank you!

True but not sure what the likely hood of them being from different shows. Just assumed they were taken a split second apart.

Looks like Charlie is in white in the background of the uncropped photo so presumably that’s from Baton Rouge 17th.

Elvis has the Aloha belt on in several photos...while during the June '74 tour he wore the belt made for the suit. The yellow tape on the microphone is a giveaway as well... used on the May '74 tour.

So I think all those Bonja photos are from May '74. But, yes Rob, that one shot is a damn good picture.

That's not Charlie, it's one of the members of Voice. Charlie is at the right of the picture facing the lit music stand. If it's hard to see him, it's because he's in black... Photo is from LA like all the other Bonja shots posted.

Does anyone know if either of the Baton Rouge shows were filmed? Perhaps on an old VHS? Couldn’t find anything on YouTube. Apart from ‘Turn Around And Look At Me’ released on FTD ‘Sold Out’ there doesn’t appear to be available audio official or otherwise.
