I saw it for a second time tonight, and it was as good as the first time. There were no scenes I wished would rush so we could get to a better scene.I'm not sure I need to see it again for a while but that's because of me, not the movie. It really is a beautiful film. It's my first Baz film, so I had no preconceived notions -- positive or negative. I'm glad it got made in our lifetime.
I saw it tonight... the theatre was packed and it is sold out for the 6:45pm show tomorrow.
I enjoyed it. I didn't "over the top" enjoy it... but I liked it. Austin did a great job as Elvis... you could tell how much time and effort he put into the role... and I didn't mind what they did with Parker's character. Another standout was Olivia Dejonge... she is an excellent actress and a very beautiful girl... and handled herself well up against Butler and Hanks. There was a lot of embellishment but for most people that don't know any better, it wasn't an issue. I'm not sure I'd go back and watch it again... to the theatre anyway. I'll certainly buy the bluray and watch it again at that time. But at the end of the day, for me, it was a story about Elvis... it wasn't Elvis... and he is where my passion lies.
But I certainly recommend seeing it... you will not be disappointed.
PS. My wife saw it with me... she is not really a fan... but she said she really liked the movie! Specially the '68 comeback scenes... go figure!

Soundtrack now only behind Top Gun Maverick in Amazon bestselling soundtracks, that is at the #2 position, and jumps all the way to #24 from 36 amongst all albums
The Elvis movie is simply a triumph. I went in a sceptic but was blown away by Luhrman's sights, sounds and style. It's unique but a triumph. It struck me while watching, Elvis has been in my life since I was 12 years old, I'm now 62 years old, this man has been an intrinsic part of my life for 50 years.
Austin Butler's Acting Journey From Nickelodeon Extra To 'Elvis'
"Elvis" star Austin Butler and Kelly Clarkson bond over being shy kids, and share how the arts — acting for Austin and singing for Kelly — helped break them out of their shells. Austin also dishes on his childhood obsession with playing guitar, getting his big break as a Nickelodeon extra, his special relationship with Denzel Washington, and the "intimidating" experience of meeting Priscilla Presley for the first time.
Austin Butler Asked Paul McCartney About Meeting Elvis
James welcomes his guests Jeff Goldblum and Austin Butler, possibly the best-dressed couch duo yet. Austin tells James about his train ride with Paul McCartney where they discussed the legacy of Elvis, and James explains how his son was named after McCartney. Jeff Goldblum describes how he fell in love with Jazz as a kid. Then, Austin expands on how playing Elvis was initially terrifying, but also incredibly special.
I've never liked Elvis impersonators and always thought any portrayal of Elvis in a biopic would be just that, so not enjoyable.
Austin was amazing.
I saw the movie at the 11am showing in Dudley (UK) today. The cinema was 50% full, which I thought was good for an early showing, and it got a round of applaus at the end.
The film was a real spectacle and I LOVED IT!

Craw-Fever is actually pretty pretty enjoyable. A Crawfish/Fever mashup with a bit of Surrender tossed in.
I thought that would have been a reference to King Creole, quite honestly...before I found out there's no reference to one of Elvis' best movies in the movie.
