it was the compacts that was the 1st ones to be issued in stereo.
songs from 60-62 were what was used.

Hello Ger, Don't tell me you were a brother of the brush as well Ha! Ha!.Firstly thanks for the info about Marco, I had heard a few rumours, glad to get the real story.I thought this might be of interest to you.In the "Inside G.I.Blues" package by Elvis unlimited, are giveaway postcards, on one of these postcards is listed
"Album Information Notice"
It mentions below this two compact releases.
LPC-108-G.I.Blues & LPC-123-Love Me
Below this is the following
"Please withdraw these two compact Lp's.They will not be released per instructions from W.W.Bullock."
Thought this might interest you.All the best Colin.

Interesting -- it's obvious this was a gambit by RCA to try and "sell" the Compact 33 idea to the public using some of Presley's bet sellers to date. When they abandoned the format in early 1961, this project must have been killed.
Perhaps, Parker killed the project becasue it contained three songs written by Leiber and Stoller, who by 1961 were on the outs with Presley's management.

ericthevid : love them Japanese 78s !
Any other Jailhouse Rock record releases from
the land of the rising sun to share here ?

Painterboy : During the 70s, while working for a Dutch
pop mag as an illustrator, I handed the brush regularly.
Mostly watercolors and ink... No oil painting.
Had never noticed the info on the G.I. Blues bonus
postcard inside the Unlimited box release!
If Im not mistaken, G.I.Blues Lpc 108 did see a
release outside of the US in those days... using the
regular album artwork with 4 songtitles added on
the front cover. As I mentioned before on this thread:
RCA CONTINUED releasing compact 33 worldwide
( except in the US) till circa 1965...
