The way UM was used in a movie ( for a few seconds) packed a punch because of all that we had seen before. A dynamic and stunning man who ruled the world. His downfall was powerful because we had seen a beautiful actor charting the journey in exciting manner.elvisjock wrote: ↑Tue Oct 22, 2024 11:44 pmThere's no need to hide this material anymore. Millions of people saw the Unchained Melody footage as used in the ELVIS movie, a performance that didn't make the cut back in 1977.
It's a different era. Everyone knows what happened to him. Seeing it will evoke sympathy for Elvis, as it did in the film.
That will not happen if there is an hour long horror of the performer at his lowest. With no reference to how he was just a few years before.
I can not imagine people willing to sit through it unless to poke fun at him or morbid hatred. An official release will see gleeful social media attention and perpetuation of the fat druggie slurring schlock.
I hope this never gets a release.
