I wonder if this will undercut the value of A Boy from Tupelo box. Given the size of the book, I would think not. Thoughts?

For some reason I didn't get this set when it was released the first time, thinking I was good with Elvis At Sun, Sunrise and even the older Sun Sessions. Since then I changed my mind and have been looking for a copy on Ebay but not willing to pay fantasy prices like 400 Usd and in some cases even higher asking prices. Well hopefully
I get a brand new sealed copy for a nice price in july.

I hope the tracklist is exactly the same as original version
(no outtakes, live tracks ommited) + crystal clear transfer of "IFTRTF".
It'd be cool if the CDs layout would resemblance old tapes, but great nonetheless.
And maybe... they included some new, unreleased tracks

I guess I'm in it for the outtakes and live stuff in great sound but I will hold onto the Kevan Budd disc for the masters.

It would be untruthful to release at set in 2017 proclaiming on the cover in big bold letters "The Complete 1953-1955 Recordings" if it isn't actually complete, including recordings found since the 2012 release!

It's not going to be complete in that sense as are there other recordings in very poor quality that weren't included in the BFT set, as far as I'm aware. I very much doubt that I Forgot to Remember to Forget will be included. I hope it is, but I doubt it.

So much for the exclusivity of the original release then which will no doubt drop in value once this new one hits the shelves. Might be a good time to sell up if you were holding onto it as an investment.

But it has the SUN version of 'That's All Right', the one that started it all, as it sounded from the start!
Worth a punt for that, in my humble, of course...

Further points to note...
The First CD that has all the Sun/RCA masters clocks in at 1 hour 7 minutes.
The Second CD that has all the Sun/RCA out-takes clocks in at 1 hour 16 minutes.
The third CD that has all the live cuts clocks in at 1 hour 19 minutes.

If you say it enough times, you'll be right about the something special coming eventually. Wasn't that the trick that another member tried by telling us the book of a Boy from Tupelo was "coming soon" for about seven years. He was right eventually too.
