For closing / insertation songs are selected also:
Sand Castles – even shots were filmed on 10 january 1973 (Queen’s Surf Pit);
Tender feeling – even shots were filmed on 10 january 1973 (Botanical Garden).
However the songs were not used. I doubt these tracks are included in this new release.

Re: Aloha From Hawaii (Deluxe Edition) coming to streaming services August 11th
According to Keith Flynn's excellent website you can read that the Aloha rehearsal concert mix is a new mix.
Excellent news, and it is definitive to decide to buy the new release from Sony.
It becomes very attractive. Also in my opinion there are a few specific songs where Elvis is more successful in the rehearsal show.

This information has been available since the Legacy set was first announced and does not confirm or deny whether the rehearsal show was remixed... so nothing new... it speaks to "Aloha from Hawaii Via Satellite". Also, the DVD set was from 2004.thenexte wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2023 4:23 amBased on the official news release all the audio appears to have been remixed by MRS. Looks like the Blu-ray is sourced from the 2006 DVD set which makes a lot of sense. Looking forward to this one, I bet the rehearsal show will sound stunning. Anyone remembers the first (disastrous) release of the rehearsal show back in 1988 ("The Alternate Aloha")?

Yes I hope he is just not going by the press release. IMHO if the rehearsal is remixed and the dvd has been improved to bluray or close you would think the powers that be would make a big deal about it and make sure everyone knows about it. One line from a press release that can be interpreted in different ways does not suffice.elvis-fan wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 5:20 amI hope Keith is right... but I'm reserving judgement.clambake1967 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 18, 2023 11:45 amAccording to Keith Flynn's excellent website you can read that the Aloha rehearsal concert mix is a new mix.

I’d call that a confirmation.

We should get a sound sample in the new future like we already have of SB from the main show. Then we will know one way or the other.

Re: Aloha From Hawaii (Deluxe Edition) coming to streaming services August 11th
I am not one to question Keith's knowledge of all things recorded by Elvis, but here's what the Graceland store has to say about the set:
Aloha from Hawaii via Satellite was an Elvis Presley concert that originally took place in Honolulu and was broadcast live via satellite to audiences around the world in 1973. The resulting live album became a #1 album for Elvis, and the TV transmission became the television event of the year worldwide. This 3CD + Blu-ray 50th anniversary package contains: CD 1 - newly remixed version of the original full-length TV broadcast concert,
CD 2 - Rehearsal show, CD 3 - Complete after-show bonus song performances, and Blu-ray - Elvis Aloha from Hawaii concert + rehearsal concert + bonus songs.
I find it odd that it does specify that the first Disc is "newly remixed" but doesn't indicate that the rehearsal show has been re-mixed.. I also am quite surprised to see the SONY set is $10.00 cheaper than the FTD and it includes a Blu-ray.
The Col. would be quite pleased at the money being made by those who will yet again purchase this material.
Although if anyone hasn't purchased the new Ross-Spang re-mix of the Broadcast show, I HIGHLY recommend it. It's never sounded better IMO.

But price has nothing to do with it. FTD always cost more than Sony.

FTD always cost more than Sony.
That's true, but for it to be cheaper AND include a possible re-mix of the rehearsal show AND a Blu=ray of the show would be a serious rip-off of those who have supported FTD..

It's a slap in the face by FTD, the FTD versio should also have been a simpler Classic album.

In the presentation of the double LP, they say :
double lp including highlights from the Aloha box set.
What does that mean ? Will we be entitled to a mix of the two concerts as he did with the LEGACY release of the double lp "Elvis on tour" with a mix of the 4 concerts on 2 lp. Personally, I hope not but nothing is indicated.

The Sony marketing blurb states "The 50th anniversary edition of Elvis Aloha from Hawaii via Satellite — newly remixed and remastered for the occasion — will be available in a 3CD + Blu-ray combined package as well as in 2LP and digital configurations".
I cannot see any mention of it being highlights. The track listing is the same as the original.
