What's funny about the Spinout LP is that all the outtakes appear to be the same edits found on the 2004 FTD.

Honestly, I didn't expect this to be a new transfer/mix/edit. This would have only been the case if they had a session set for the movie out by now or ready to be released close to this vinyl release. So they just used what they had ready from back in the day as the easiest way to make this happen.

Should have had it last Thursday. The carrier delivered the order for my dealer somewhere else. So now it will be Monday or Tuesday.

Good point. One thing I am surprised by is the inclusion of Love Letters on Side D of the LP. The single had already completed is chart run by time the LP came out, nor was it featured on the original LP.

I am a bit surprised that FTD has not released Spinout as a full sessions set as the full outtakes exist. I was listening to the Famous Groove release of this sessions a few days ago.

The problem with FTD vinyl is that only the artwork (which is stunning) is given proper care. The rest is just a rehash of cd takes. What use is to go for such a fancy release and use Lene Reidel 20 years old horrible mastering? With tickle me they put some work on it, but overall what is missed is:

- vinyl is for listening, not an archive type of release like the sessions set. So no three outtakes in a row or endless false starts. Some audacity could be used to edit outtakes.

- special mastering for vinyl. Even if the some are ok, it’d be great if some great cutting engineer could make them.

- more is not better: some (or even all) releases could work miracles with just one record (and hence a bit cheaper). There’s no need to beef kissin cousins with useless instrumental takes. But that applies to most albums. Just one record with the “bestest best”, 5-7 songs per side. There’s no need for quantity. The sessions sets would feed that hunger. The vinyl should go the route of stereo 57 essential 2, or essential 5.

Mail delivery was called off yet again. No samples from me this time around... . I hope this new release will be with everyone shortly.

Receiving The Last Tours. Just listened quickly on February 18 and 19. The sound is clear and sounds excellent.

A thorough review of the package & a "That's All Right" sound clip (from disc 2 - Columbia, SC 2/18). I was hoping the discs themselves would be black instead of orange (for historical accuracy) since RCA released many of their albums in 1977 & onward using a black label with white print.

Someone on facebook mentioned that some funny dialogue before little sister on the 21st has been edited out? Any truth to this?

And also just before Where No One Stands Alone.

Pretty impressed with "Mountain" from Columbia at one point Elvis 'almost' goes into a spoken part..

There's nothing in the dialogue that warrants an edit, it's just Elvis interacting with the crowd.

I assume they've spliced out the static/buzzing bit when Elvis stops talking?
