At least we are getting the vinyl with the new Re-mix
Knock it off Rob...

In the presentation of the double LP, they say :

double lp including highlights from the Aloha box set.
What does that mean ? Will we be entitled to a mix of the two concerts as he did with the LEGACY release of the double lp "Elvis on tour" with a mix of the 4 concerts on 2 lp. Personally, I hope not but nothing is indicated.

XDFK, your quoting abilities are atrocious. Please work on this for future postings.

"This new edition takes its cues from the audio contents of last year’s 3-CD release from the mail-order Follow That Dream label: the original album on CD 1 as newly remixed by Matt-Ross Spang, the dress rehearsal on CD 2 as reprised from the Legacy Edition, and multiple takes of the additional songs captured for the U.S. broadcast on CD 3, also newly remixed by Ross-Spang. New to this release, however, is the Blu-ray premiere of the original special. A 28-page booklet with liner notes by Randy Lewis is also included.

...

Aloha from Hawaii Via Satellite (50th Anniversary Edition) (originally released as Follow That Dream/RCA 506020-975164, 2022 – reissued RCA/Legacy, 2023)"

Well someone has got it wrong then. Sony are stating all three discs contain remixed recordings.

I just saved $60.00 by not pre-ordering this one.. Again, how nice it would be if Ernst had someone prepare a press-release on his authorized releases so that we'd know what we were getting. Better yet - how about a "From the Desk Of..." press-release with the facts on a SONY or FTD release?

Here’s Sony’s press release if that helps.

50th Anniversary Edition of Elvis Aloha from Hawaii via Satellite includes 3 Newly Remixed and Remastered Discs (Full Original Concert, “Dress Rehearsal” Concert, US Broadcast Bonus Tracks) + First-Ever Release of Elvis’ Groundbreaking 1973 Global Satellite Concert on Blu-ray

Thanks for the link, but now I'm debating whether or not the rehearsal show (apparently presented in a fresh mix) and the main show on Blu-ray is worth the purchase again.. What to do, what to do..

Wise men say only fools rush in… Waiting until after the feedback from the release to learn if the rehearsal show is newly remixed or not. I’m betting it’s a recycled cash grab for those wanting the blu-ray and similar to the 68 comeback set. History shows Sony doesn’t do any more work than they have to.

The rehearsal show is remixed on this new release, and that is a fact. It is different to the FTD release, where it wasn't remixed.

I know

Wait so they just ported the legacy version of the rehearsal for the FTD release?

I am just curious if this release will be available locally from our Walmart, Target, Best Buy…etc

I’m assuming it’ll be available at local Books A Million or Barnes & Noble?

Didn’t the Sony press release that has been posted on here several times do that though. Sony would not have been in a good place if they advertised/marketed it as being remixed and then not delivering. It could be seen as false advertising.

It would have been if EPE's own website didn't say something different (and still does)...

Well we know how unreliable EPE are. They continually state that the show was broadcast live to a global audience of 1.5 billion people.

Nope...didn't miss it... just wanted confirmation from the man himself. Keith could have used anything as his source for that information... but once he stated (personally) that he knew it for a fact, I was convinced.

Thank you Keith (for the confirmation) and Paul (for the link). Call me one of those Elvis crazieees (attention Rob), but after seeing the price on the link from Paul I realized that I was really only paying $20.00 each for the remixed rehearsal show and the Blu-ray of the main show - not a bad deal. I still dislike the fact that FTD didn't include the re-mix of the rehearsal in its package, but then again it is Elvis and as far as his music releases, I've been down this road before, but it doesn't mean I have to like or agree with it.

Thanks again Paul. I can finally end my purchases of the Aloha material.

Unless they come out with a (stunning) 3D Video or a holographic version, this is my very last Aloha Purchase.
