I have received my set, so all of you can stop worrying now.
There is a sticky rumour going round in the Elvis world saying that the content of this set even surpasses that of the largest and shiniest crown jewel of FTD so far, This Is Elvis set. Can this be true?? I need to be assured before I order mine!
I'm kinda on the fence with this one. I've bought all the early 60's secular sets (EIB, SFE etc.) as even the lesser songs on those, I can still listen to. This set, while it includes some great stuff, also has some tunes that I'll simply skip over without a first listen. If I buy, it'll probably be a self treat around Christmas time.
Just arrived! CD1 of everything already heard a million times before! So, her we go again! No fret! Sound is as good as these old ears can still capture! Always loved these sessions! Imaginary 12 track LP, those days:
1. Love Letters
2. Come What May
3. Indescribably Blue
4. Fools Fall In Love
5. Down In The Alley
6. I’ll Remember You
7. Guitar Man
8. High Heel Sneakers
9. Big Boss Man
10. You Don’t Know Me
11. U.S Male
12. Too Much Monkey Business
"If you love me let me know, if you don't, ....move it!"
Now most of us have the set or will soon own it raise the question what now, what next, where to. Will FTD proceed with none movie sessions and go upwards to 69,70,71 and so on. Or will they go back to early movie sessions like Flaming Star, Follow That dream, world's Fair? Or is it time for Soundboards? Any suggestions?
I just received the set, a lot faster than usual. Good job, Bear Family!
As to what comes next, if it's Memphis 69 I sure hope they take their time to remove all Goddamn and cursing from the set. We need to protect our ears from Elvis blasphemy and vulgarity!

I asked myself that question too. Soundboards have never been in the way of sessions and vice versa. I think sometimes a soundboard is released together with a sessions set. I think they only go back to older sessions if there's something left to release. On some sessions, there is very little. I think they're gonna go upwards. I hope they release the 1969 sessions since that one set we got was quite incomplete. I think there are some unreleased parts of the 70s sessions. It also would be nice to just have everything from every session in one place. E.g. the Stax and Jungle room sessions are scattered around some releases. It would also be nice to have the Jungle Room sessions in the same amazing sound as the Memphis set and the Jungle Room Legacy cd and it would be nice to have the Today sessions in good sound too, since it was an early FTD release and the mastering is better nowadays.

I hope the next session set would be the 68 NBC TV special studio sessions. Wouldn't mind a movie soundtrack session for a change, either.

Two weeks ago, picking up the latest releases, my dealer told me another book/cd combo is coming this year. Like the latest On Tour and Blue Hawaii projects.
If this is really true, we’ll see. Asking which topic the set will be, he didn’t know (or wouldn’t tell me).

I'd fight Rob in a pub car park to be ahead in the queue for a World's Fair Sessions set.
I would bet your house that there isn't more than 5-10 minutes left of sessions in the vault. The FTD single disc covers pretty much all there is IIRC.
