- March 1974 (Knoxville?, Memphis) - Possible title: Elvis In Tennessee - Hometown Shows Volume 2
- May 1975 (Lake Charles, Murfreesboro)
- June 1975 (Mobile, Jackson?, Tuscaloosa)
- March 1976 (Johnson City?)
But: FTD seems to alternate between hotel engagements and tours, so another Vegas release may be up next.

Re: New FTD: The Last Tours Vol.1 (4CD) & California Holiday 2LP
That's a great idea but FTD seems to do not care about matrix recordings (otherwise they could have done it with December 30 1976 for example). Seems like you, elvissailers or somebody else who is good with audio needs to do that!Elvis2000 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 3:07 pmThe remaining Vegas February 1973 soundboards would be great, I think the February 10 soundboard over a soundbooth recording would be interesting too because a decent matrix recording could be made out of that.On Tape 1972 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 1:29 pmI agree. As for unreleased soundboards: Some of the June 1975 soundboards on bootleg are of poor quality, there's plenty of room for FTD to improve and provide value to collectors / fans! It's kinda neat whenever new FTDs render old bootlegs obsolete.
As of right now, I don't see FTD in a position to come up with much of what is unreleased from that particular year. However, I'd love to see them revisit the March Las Vegas engagement. There should be a few more tapes left in the archives (based on the bonus songs we've gotten on past FTD titles).
Maybe it's time for them to mix and match different years and come up with creative concepts (different shows from different years but from one particular location / venue) to handle tricky years such as 1975.

The March 1975 engagement would be nice indeed. It was a good one, and there are still some mysteries about the allegedly spliced soundboards released on Big Boss Man and Back With A Bang. A release of the March 30 en 31 midnight shows would be nice to clear that up. They seem to have those in the faults too. Maybe coupled with the March 19 shows, which seem to be the earliest recorded shows from this engagement (although I'm not sure if FTD has them, parts of them are released on bootleg). On Tape 1972 wrote: As of right now, I don't see FTD in a position to come up with much of what is unreleased from that particular year. I don’t like it when they mix different tours or years on the same release. Things like ”August Season In Vegas” or ”Summer of ’76” work much better for me.

In general, the June soundboards from various import labels (Madison, Rock Legends, King Records) do not sound bad. Certainly not poor. If you compare it with some FTD 1975 concert releases from different months, FTD is inferior in this regard.

Surely they could make ”Fly T-R-O-U-B-L-E!” sound better, though? That release is legendary in terms of design (great title too) but the sound can probably be improved.

another edit was made after moody blue, it gets cuts off right after Elvis says ''Boy i'm sure glad you learned it'' the rest of the dialogue where Elvis mentions ''Cause i don't know the chord changes, the key or anything.. mountain'' has been cut out and it goes straight into mountain.

Re: New FTD: The Last Tours Vol.1 (4CD) & California Holiday 2LP
Why are they editing. nearly every release.
It's become a Joke .
This is a collectors label for God sake for hardcore fans.
Same as The Guitar Man release leave well alone.
We want to hear everything that was recorded in full whether from studio, concert or rehearsels.
Messing with history I call it.
I also might add about the Memphis box set.
They advertise it as like being a fly on the wall in the studio with Elvis hearing exactly what Elvis would have heard but again Ernst
does his own thing and and releases what he thinks sounds good.
E.g Don't cry Daddy with harmony overdub,
Ill never fall in Love again with the back up singers who recorded live in The Jungle room been removed.
They did the same with Back in Nashville removing back up singers that were Time to hin the stusio with Elvis.
I think it is time for Ernst to retire.
To me he did a great job at first but the last few years there have been too many errors some done intentionally. (Whats stated above)and some are just grossly bad management.
EG tapes at wrong speed wrong information on packages the list goes on and on.
Time to move on and hand the mantle to some one who really knows what us hardcore Fans want not Ernst playlist.

It’s too late in the day to hand the mantle to someone else who really knows what hardcore fans want because there isn’t much left to release anyhow. And what hardcore fans want does not mean such things are financially viable for the label.mmoie wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2024 6:23 amWhy are they editing. nearly every release.

Actually I think that there is a lot to do with the label.
First thing it should start thinking about online services. Especially since the back catalog is unavailable.

Re: New FTD: The Last Tours Vol.1 (4CD) & California Holiday 2LP
Nodoby cares about an online service.
Most of the people who buy FTD product are collectors and we want our physical releases please. There is no way I would spend 60 euro for "The Last Tours" if all I got was a stupid download or access to the release on a streaming platform. (Not sure if the price was 60 euro exactly: I'm one of those real fans who don't care about the price as long as it is an Elvis LP/CD I desperately need. The point is, I wouldn't pay even 1 euro for anything other than a physical version.)

Re: New FTD: The Last Tours Vol.1 (4CD) & California Holiday 2LP
You maybe not, but there will be new fans coming in the future.
They should have access to all of that material somehow. FTD will not re-release Tucson 76 or Amarillo 77 and other. Should they just go for pirate FLACSs or mp3?
Or should they not listed to the material because they were born too late?
Also there is a good chance that 10-15 years from now not all of everybodys collections will survive. Maybe they at least should have a online source to enjoy this music.
It's 2024, in 2054 there will be no Ernst and no new FTD either. Should this material just rot on shelves of very old people?

Re: New FTD: The Last Tours Vol.1 (4CD) & California Holiday 2LP
Ernst Jorgensen, as owner of FTD and already over seventy, FTD has been around for 25 years, an on-line service is too late. I think there is also minimal interest, for on-line, as far as FTD is concerned. Collecting Elvis' music is physical, and not for your hard drive. At least, certainly not for me.
Plus, FTD is more than CDs. Vinyl and books are also available. Now you can put the Kindle version of the books online. No, thank you. FTD is the exclusive label for fans where it must be tangible.

Re: New FTD: The Last Tours Vol.1 (4CD) & California Holiday 2LP
That may be true in 2024. It will not be like that in 2035.
CDs will go away, paper books probably too at some point.
Should this great story end with present FTD setup? Should we just move on and don't care about anybody who is coming here after we will be too old or gone?
Hell I hope my grand kids will have a chance to listen to this music.
We are all victims or Parkers politics of not filming Elvis performances too often for example. "You want to see Elvis, come and see him in concert", well that was true 50 years ago for sure.

Re: New FTD: The Last Tours Vol.1 (4CD) & California Holiday 2LP
I don’t believe new fans coming on board now will have the same kind of collector enthusiasm for loads of soundboards of the same material/shows. Even many older fans have had enough of buying lots of soundboards because so many shows sound the same with Elvis on autopilot and which were never intended for release at all.Tomek wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2024 5:13 pmYou maybe not, but there will be new fans coming in the future.

And lots of the old shows are already online under YouTube if anyone is desperate enough to want to listen to them. And as I have mentioned before, putting releases on line will affect dealer fans who rely on income that FTD releases generate.

Re: New FTD: The Last Tours Vol.1 (4CD) & California Holiday 2LP
I am convinced that the ''fan base'' will shrink and continue to shrink as the years go by. That doesn't mean that EP will be forgotten or that his music will no longer be listened to. Children and grandchildren are not looking for a random soundboard from the 70s with sometimes variable sound quality and even more importantly a sometimes unmotivated Elvis.
Future generations will fall back on compilations when there is a need to listen to Elvis' music. Via music platforms/streaming. FTD will not exist for another 25 years. If we as collectors close our eyes for good, in most cases the collection will be bought up by dealers. It's already happening, more than you might think. What is of inestimable value to me will be sold for a piece of cake.

Well maybe someday somebody will come up with an idea that this historical materials should be available to everybody just like many other materials are.
It may not be a business decision but preservation of historical documents.
Until that time comes, let's enjoy the ride!
Have a great weekend and put on some FTD guys.
