"Viva Las Vegas" and "What'd I Say" were later recycled on Vol. 3 [1983] of the German Rare Elvis series.
Not sure if any of the other mixes were ever reissued [A Valentine Gift For You, perhaps] prior to the Double Features release.

I didn't know there was a Rare Elvis Vol. 3

On to the dreaded Harum Scarum/Girl Happy disc tonight, but it has to be said that Harum Scarum's soundtrack sounds SO much better here than in any other incarnation. That doesn't make it good, but it does at least make it considerably less objectionable. Elvis singing poor songs is one thing - Elvis singing poor songs with duff sound is another thing altogether. And I have to say that I seem to have got a vague liking for some of the ballads over the years - even if So Close Yet So Far master is far worse than the alternate on Collector's Gold.

I just received a mail from "Elvis Matters".
In it was a link for some auction in the Netherlands were all "Double Feature" CDs are being offered as a set.
As some of you guys are still lokking for those I thought I share the link. As of typing the price for all 10 "Double Features" plus all five "Golden Records" and eight CDs from the so called "Ultimate Edition" is at 84 Euros, which is a really good price I'd say.
As of now the auction is running for another 2 Days and 12 hours.
So crossing fingers for those interested to win this auction.

I’m wondering how much the bid is currently at in American currency?

On a side note: Frankie And Johnny and Harum Scarum are remixes, for the better! Only to be found on the DF releases! :smt020

And if out of sheer curiosity, or desperation, anyone interested enough in listening to these 2 particular albums, there only way to do so. 😉

I never understood why some soundtracks were remixed and others weren't for that project...

I think it was just that those two soundtracks sounded bloody awful in their original mixes. If the others sounded fine, there was no real need to remix them.

As always, this was a terrific episode, and it's great to see more of Justin on there.
