Fair enough...., understood about the Omaha audio..., thought it was "cleaned up" a bit...., thanks for pointing that out. Always enjoy your posts....Johnny2523 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 29, 2023 4:06 amI do have to be honest in saying that the audio i used for the ''reprise'' isn't from Omaha. The audio quality of that show is so bad (and Charlie in concert) that i substituded it with a different version. But it brings the point across still as both versions are very similar.rlj4ep wrote: ↑Sat Apr 29, 2023 3:36 amFantastic Johnny! Thanks very much. He really hit the song with his best shot at both shows. Remarkable how he found the strength to nail it in Omaha! Just a minor point, but I love watching Charlie Hodge's reaction when Elvis raises the note in Omaha. Right to end, Elvis tried to give his fans all that he could.
What are you listening to right now?

Now my friend, over in the youtube world there has been many "Deconstruction" homemade mixes done by Beatles fans (most of which i posted on my Beatles appreciation topic) But in the Elvis world i think there was only ever "Burning Love" and "Suspicious Mind" songs (both of which i posted last year) carefully made.
Do you have equipment to produce deconstruction mixes (in particular after 1969 studio songs) ?

Willie all the way tonight...
Celebrating Willie on his 90th birthday.
First up Country Favourites Willie Nelson Style.1966
4th album and the first one to make an impact on the country chart.
A pleasing set of country covers with Ernst Tubbs backing band The Texas Troubadours giving g it a Texas Swing treatment. Good record.

Re: What are you listening to right now?
Willie's 90th Birthday bash album #2
The Willie Way.1972
Willie's final album for RCA after 7 years of not much to show leaving artist and label frustrated. Still it's a fine album but little promotion and a terrible cover killed it commercially.
Produced by our favourite Felton Jarvis this Friday Music reissue sounds great

The latest FTD LP which sounds great! Man.. i do love Love Coming Down a fantastic song that for me evokes the same emotion as the march 1972 recordings of Separate Ways and Always On My Mind

Re: What are you listening to right now?
and if i had to give one comment, it's that this album would have worked better as a Jungle Room Sessions Volume 2 LP rather then ''From Elvis Presley Boulevard'' album, for the mere fact that it deals with more then just that album.

Re: What are you listening to right now?
This is very encouraging. I haven’t opened mine yet in fear of disappointment but from your comments it seems that FTD vinyl have now sorted out the sound quality problem on vinyl as their last few releases have sounded good. I’m assuming the vinyl is every bit as good as the CDs?Johnny2523 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 12:55 amThe latest FTD LP which sounds great! And despite the record containing songs from both the boulevard and moody blue album its a great listening experience and time flies by.

Re: What are you listening to right now?
The other 3 albums I played in last night Willie birthday celebrations.
Red Headed Stranger.1975
Probably my favourite country album of all time.
Spirit. 1996
Beautiful sparse album showcasing Trigger and Sister Bobbie on piano
Django and Jimmie. 2015
With the great Merle Haggard on the last album he appeared on before his passing.
Two old timers having a blast and it's infectious.

Re: What are you listening to right now?
could AI be the way of the future ? Check out these Freddie Mercury "covers" on Yesterday and Billie Jean. Certainly came up good on Yesterday !
And what could this mean in the Elvis world? Long Black Limousine could be interesting in Elvis 1975/76 voice or Moody Blue in his 1969, 1970 voice ? And how about home recordings like "If I Loved You" in Elvis 1976 voice.
There is a good lively thread about the pros and cons over at Hoffman forum...
