Re: Behold, "Elvis Presley The Searcher" --> HBO Trailer!
Some thoughts, what is the problem or indeed surprise with male stars dying their hair and having surgery? They are in showbiz and you would be dammed if you don't and dammed if you do those that don't such as female stars like Bardot are ridiculed when they don't and redtops have a field day with gloating at how awful they now look. It's very similar type of coverage to the botched or over the top plastic surgery that they receive anyway when they do let nature take it's course.
It is no surprise that famous people are vain and have ego, even if you don't start out that way if you have had enough years of people telling you how beautiful/handsome and wonderful you are then you get used to that and want to maintain it. Besides without that self belief and ego then they probably wouldn't have produced the body of work that they did.
I agree with why single out Macca? Bono, Springsteen, Jagger, Bowie, Prince they all dye (or did) their hair. Springsteen and Bono also look like they have had hair implants and some other cosmetic work done and why not when the expectation of public and media are so high. Tom Jones letting it go grey, well yes, but he was in his mid 60's when he did so and it was only because his son was honest/brave enough to tell him it was starting to look a bit ridiculous.
I agree that Elvis would no doubt have kept dying his hair and would have gone under the knife multiple times. However in his defence the black hair dye did not start of to make him look younger than he was it it started as a stylistic choice and later he became prematurely white haired by his 30's so her never really quite reached an age where people would wonder why he had no grey hair.
Sorry folks, wrong thread meant to post it on the other searcher thread in response to some others comments

A Botoxed Elvis is a sight I'd never wish to see!
Has Springsteen had work done? He looks pretty OK for his age.

Re: Behold, "Elvis Presley The Searcher" --> HBO Trailer!
Here is the upcoming schedule for the Searcher besides the premiere on April 14t. Part 2 is scheduled to start at 9:49 and the next program starts at 11:30 so unless they have 40 plus mins of other promos etc the total running time will be over 3 hours. Looks like every airing includes part 1 and part 2 so why split it up? I guess so they can run promos between part 1&2.

Re: Behold, "Elvis Presley The Searcher" --> HBO Trailer!
Some people think yes. Ive seen him up close during his recent Broadway gig outside the theater and its very hard to tell. Id think he may also dye his hair, but it all looks pretty natural. He looks great for his age, and is in great shape physically,Hard Rocker on Sun Apr 01, 2018 8:31 am wrote:A Botoxed Elvis is a sight I'd never wish to see!

Re: Behold, "Elvis Presley The Searcher" --> HBO Trailer!
Yes, and once we've all seen it, this thread will stay on topic with all kinds of opinions on the show. Its just that Hard Rocker asked about Bruce, and I had a first hand experience and tried to answer him. All topics tend to stray. No harm done I hope!Samain on Mon Apr 02, 2018 8:27 am wrote:Well there's still 12 days to go and not much more to say until we've seen it!

Bruce and Bono have both had their hair "fixed". meaning hair plugs and such.Gary Crawford on Sun Apr 01, 2018 8:25 am wrote:Some thoughts, what is the problem or indeed surprise with male stars dying their hair and having surgery? Don't think you will see any dvd info until well after the first airings if there actually will be a dvd release.jsstcb1 on Thu Apr 05, 2018 7:41 pm wrote:Now has there been any info on DVD???? we can't record scrambled HBO.

Re: Behold, "Elvis Presley The Searcher" --> HBO Trailer!
Why would anyone doubt that there would be a DVD release ? Without one, the documentary would soon pass into yesterday's news. After all the hard work and promotional work, they're not going to let that happen.

No reason for fingers crossed. Steve Morse and Robbie have it right. It would be insane not to have it out on video.
