DAVID BOWIE - A MONTREAL MOMENT

brings back memories. No i was not there. But in 1984 my neck of the woods, little ol adelaide, AU our 5-SAFM radio played the show one evening in full, commercial-free !
I recall taping it then. It was played a couple more times in 1987 and 1988 thereafter.

I can't understand why the concert has not been given an official remaster and release, yet

good effort by the MRS with improving the audio from a poor recorded soundboard and creating a pseudo stereo mix. Not Elvis' best concert however...

Song written by Merle Haggard. One of my favorite gospel songs that Elvis should've recorded. The message is very prophetic & timely. More so today than ever !!

[Verse 1]
Like the ancient Roman Empire, this world is doomed to fall
And it's much too big a thing for mortal man
Just take a look around and see the writing on the wall
Somehow we've got to find a helping hand.

[Chorus]
This world has never been in the awful shape it's in
And people scorn the things our leaders do
It's time a prayer was spoken from the heart of every man
Jesus, take a hold and lead us through.

[Verse 2]
The mighty roar of gunfire is now a local sound
And our city streets are filled with angry men
Law's now a mockery throughout our troubled land
And destruction seems to be the current trend.

[Chorus]
This world has never been in the awful shape it's in
And our leaders seem in doubt of what to do
It's time a prayer was spoken from the heart of every man
Jesus, take a hold and lead us through
Jesus, take a hold and lead us through.

"If The Songs Don't Go Over With The Crowd, We Can Always Do A Medley Of Costumes."

Elvis A. Presley, 1970

Now, here's the relatively simple, but eminently moody, opener to Blake Edwards' stellar Experiment in Terror film (1962).
Features Philip Lathrop's extraordinary framing and marvelous black and white cinematography, paired with Henry Mancini's atmospherically rhythmic movie theme...

Bubblegum 1960's greatest hits (and some misses!) :smt007

This will be a 60's series of increments of three-packs that'll be featured on this thread.

Master Jack · Four Jacks And a Jill (1968)

Suzanne on a Sunday Morning - Rick Nelson (1967)... but Ricky's vocals panned to one channel.

Jingle Jangle Jungle - Bobby Darin (1968)... bizarre (coming from Darin) but brilliant!
