I picked up a five cd package in Dublin today, those Dubs are behind the times, they still have decent, comprehensive record stores or store ! The very wonderful "Tower " records. Anyway its five Lou Reed albums, an RCA recording artist. I am listening to the killer live album, " Rock 'N' Roll Animal ". Man, it kicks butt.
I have the rest of the week to discover,
Rock 'N' Roll Heart.
Street Hassle. ( with a guest appearance by none other than " The Boss ", Mr. Bruce Springsteen on the key title track. Wow !!
The Bells.
Growing Up In Public.

So a great start to the New Year. Rock On !

That's a great set.

Her voice is what I imagine an angel's voice sounding like.

The album was a pretty big seller too - over 7 million in the US.

Now working my way through this amazing album - The Chain on Side 2 has just started - the clarity of this album is amazing especially on this SACD version from Japan. Released in early 1977, this album really is a mega seller with over 40 million worldwide sales. It is currently #14 in the U.K. Top 100 chart and has spent 816 weeks in the chart. One of my favourite albums.

Agree with you. Karen Carpenter's voice is superb. Based on your suggestion I'm going to dig out my Carpenters CD's and give then a spin. ::rocks

She truly did have the voice of an angel. Her vocals on Crescent Noon are some of the purest vocals I’ve ever heard in my life. Beautiful song, beautiful voice.

I am now listening to an old favourite from Fort Baxter, At Full Blast. This CD features the great midnight show on August 11, 1972 and it was a Godsend when it was released back in 1995. The sound is excellent with pumping bass and drums. Play it loud and you're in the Showroom Internationale!

since it is 2020, started the year off by listening to 50 year anniversary albums (as I did in 2019)

Deja Vu - CSN&Y
After The Gold Rush - Neil Young
His Band and Street Choir - Van Morrison
Cricklewood Green - Ten Years After
Sweet Baby James - James Taylor

all are some of my favorite albums from 1970

She and I had some great times together, but it just wasn't in the cards.

I'm glad we could still remain friends, though.

I'm re-listening to Stones Outtakes 1968+1969 that were posted on Youtube two days ago , then they were deleted ! Most of them have not appeared on any Boots in the past . One of the interesting one's was the female choir rehearsing their part on " You Can't Always Get What You Want " .

It depends what you're expecting of this CD. There could be various reasons to buy or reasons not to do so..
You can hear excerpts on the web. If you're interested in the history of Elvis' music you must buy it if you can get it cheap.
