Rodney Crowell ~ The Chicago Sessions. 2023

A nod on the artwork to his debut album 45 yrs previously. Some career, an education with Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, becoming a member of Emmylou Harris' Hot Band, then a country star with multiple #1 singles and now on to the elderly statesman of Americana .
This one continues his late career run of excellent albums.

to my ears It sounds like Paul is doing an impression on his idol Buddy including Texan accent, rather than his own voice. If they can do another AI simulation with McCartney sounding when he was in his forties would be better.

this is great and very close. Needs a bit more work however.
One can just envisage Mercury would have taken the verse "Many times I been alone..." to a higher level than what is heard here.

Not heard this for ages. The first Sinatra I ever heard. There Used to Be a Ballpark is up there with his very best.

Accused of being "a nerd in his 20s." I wish.

Oh man thanks for that. I really enjoyed those clips.

I can remember back in the 80’s seeing my fellow Long Island(er) at a gas station, but a little too far for me to reach, till he pulled off.

Seen him live at least half a dozen times and he was up there in my top 10 for a long time.

And the closest I ever got to him again, was hanging out and chilling with Liberty DeVito down in Florida, where they were going to play a show that night at the Miami arena. Good times.
