This rather excellent version of “Sheriff” by Clapton from the 2010 Crossroads festival.

Re: What are you listening to right now?
Not quite nailed it but there's elements of Elvis in his 1970 voice , there. Interesting result.

Re: What are you listening to right now?
A Modern Jazz Symposium Of Music And Poetry With Charles Mingus.Bethlehem,1957/New Land, 2022.
The title might make you think its a bit serious and dry but it's Mingus so you know that's not going to be the case.
The poetry is on the first track but it's more a short story reading set to music and is an entertaining narrative about a Jazz fans daily struggles name checking a few prominent Jazzmen of the day.The 11 mins fly by with story appropriate background noises and the actual narration by actor Melvin Stewart is spot on as is the music, there is a lot going on but it's an easy listen atmospheric, quirky, MINGUS .The rest of the album is top notch too with some great playing from the horns, piano drums and bass.
This recent reissue from New Land is expanded to a double LP set with bonus tracks.
Sounds great, you know the usual Kevin Gray pressed at blah blah and all that malarkey.
Nice gatefold sleeve the only thing missing perhaps on an album officially licensed are the Bethlehem logos on the cover/label.
Going for under £30 not bad for a double album just now.

Re: What are you listening to right now?
I just discovered this recording of "You're The Reason I'm Living" by Brenda Lee! (I like it much more than Bobby Darin's recording)
Brenda adds a touch of "Elvis" to her phrasing throughout!

You and me both. Literally been listening to this stuff phrase by phrase to see if they're different takes!

Re: What are you listening to right now?
I've been through these three tonight:
The 2010 mono vinyl release of Bobby Darin's That's All. It is SO much better in mono that stereo. The sound quality difference is startling.
Then there is an oddity. In 1973, Sammy Davis went back in the studio to redo 9 of his vocals from the 1964 (5?) Our Shining Hour album with Count Basie. The results were issued on this LP.
And then this - which might well be the most beautifully recorded album of Elvis's output from an engineering point of view. The sound is just gorgeous.
