Neither have I. Which makes me think they have not sent the package -- despite the email many of us received to the contrary.

Unfortunately I’m not get the Blue Hawaii set, there really is no room left at the inn…and being retired, I’m not rolling in dough anymore!
I am kind of expecting (more) import fees on arrival too (but hope not).

Don't know what's going on with DHL. Got a confirmation the delivery was changed to Monday on my request, yet tonight the Blue Hawaii set was delivered. At least it got here.
One frustrating thing about DHL is that they typically don't deliver on weekends either. Now THAT'S frustrating!

I’ve never received anything as quick as I did with this order from the London shop. Shipped DHL no fuss no muss. Very happy with the London guys! I was shocked how quick it got here!

Yep! Love em! I live in Louisiana and it usually takes at least 10 days to 2 weeks plus sometimes for me to get stuff but I got this order very quick!

Some random things to check out (for those of us who are still waiting of our BH deliveries) -

(The second clip - disallowed playback on other websites - is a bit frustrating to watch at times, but . . for those so inclined I include it anyway; at least it is something.)

I thought the above was kinda neat, and enjoyed it.

For those who didn't get their package from Elvis Matters: Check your accout. He cancelled orders WITHOUT NOTICE because he didn't get enough copies of Blue Hawaii. But he's cool. He doesn't care about customers. I had luck and found one last copy at another dealer. But after bad packed orders with smashed items, the fact that he charges extra shipping for the STILL missing Lorentzen SUN vinyl and this Blue Hawaii incident I really think about no longer ordering from Matters.

I'm pissed. They edited dialogue and on a first glance I saw that take 18 of Slicin' Sand is missing (false start) even thought it's mentioned on the content-list. I need a

REPLACEMENT CD

for this. I'm really shocked and I'm afraid to check what else is missing. Gone is the dream of the ultimate release of Blue Hawaii, again. Thanks Ernst. This man has to be replaced.

For those who do not have orderd, yet, here are a few seconds as samples from the MSG and the Blue Hawaii releases.
For the live samples I've made a short A-B comparison with "Prince from another planet" being the A, the recent FTD being the B.
From the Blue Hawaii set you'll get a minute from takes 4/5 of "Can't help falling in Love" as I guess this will be the most interesting in regards to the audio material for this release. All the other outtakes on the set sound much, much better though.
Thanks for those samples, much appreciated. The new MSG mix is more spacious, although sounds, to me, a bit boomy. That might just be me though. I do like that the drums are given some space. For me, I'm not sure the sound on the FTD is good enough for me to "upgrade".
Hi Mike,

I thought I noticed that too just before I read your post. A little bit of reverb, boomy as you say or echoey for want of better word. Mind you still sounds a better mix and I'm not listening on my normal system. I bought it anyway! Anyone else notice anything they thought there was too much of or too little of in this version? :D

What- oh no, but it was to be expected. Unbelievable how we fans are taken for fools. FTD was founded as a collectors label, it is completely incomprehensible why concerts are then shortened (for example: Live On Stage In Mephis, Pittsburgh), session dialogues are cut away or cut to other places. No collector wants this! A collector wants it as it was recorded, that's the difference between a collector and a mainstream label.

I'm also pissed once again. I was so looking forward to the box but now i must see it was again a mistake. So we still need the old TCB Blue Hawaii Session LP´s. What about sessions like Viva Las Vegas and Fun in Acapulco, we don't have any reference material and one take follows another, without dialogue. I think they cut out here a lot at these sessions.

There are many who don't buy the sessions because the takes are often not very different and that's exactly why it is absolutly a no go to cut out studio talk and false starts, that's what makes a session, it gives the feeling how it was in the studio, thats what fans want.

The Elvis fan community is not growing and many can not afford the high purchase costs for such a box set. If you save your money on other things to be able to afford the publications and then you realize that your hard-earned money is go away for a next product which does not keep what it promised, you are very very disappointed.

The box set itself is very nicely done, great pictures with fantastic print quality, informative and well researched text, another great book release from Pål Granlund.

Sadly that the overall impression is now again destroyed by cut material. And it's not like there was no space, either it would have been 5 CD's or they would have simply left out the original album on CD 1. I think, we've certainly bought enough the original album masters in the past.

So once again, this is more and more not a collectors label anymore and i miss the respect for the fans who brings the money to the producers.

And Ernst - the criticism isn't new, but he stands above any criticism, without any communication with the fans who paid their hard earned money.

For the MSG Release i must say i was a little skeptical if another new mix of the concerts is needed but i have to say the mix blows your hair straight back and is really an enrichment. Luckily, the parts cut out in the box "Prince From Another Planet" were taken up again here.

So why the hell, we get here something complete on the concerts and the sessions are edited? I will never understand this way of thinking.

None of the sessions sets are 'complete'. We are not going to get verbatim copies of the session reels - that's never going to happen.
