... however the sheer cost for audio I already have and a book of pictures I may not look at too much did not justify buying the Blue Hawai release from FTD
I normally feel the same way... that's why i passed on the VLV and JR books... but I did get this one. I've gone through the music book which was interesting and haven't even started looking at the movie book yet. I listened to disc 1 and disc 4 so far. I know someone said they didn't like the mastering but I don't hear it... these recordings sound incredible to me. The only comment I would have is perhaps they're a little loud but that's it.

Received mine. Great service from UEPS.
No duty to pay, packaged safely. I'm from Canada.
It's FEDEX and DHL that always charge the customs fees... I never get it from anyone else. I'm not sure if it's charged up front by other carriers like USPS or PostNL or Royal Mail?? It almost seems like FEDEX and DHL pocket the extra fees for themselves...

I did buy (despite the high cost) the New York Madison Square garden package and it IS good!, however the sheer cost for audio I already have and a book of pictures I may not look at too much did not justify buying the Blue Hawai release from FTD
Aren't you the one who sometimes buy a second or third time an audience recorded CD of a show just because this time the audience recording of the same show is a tad better?

I’m happy for those that have received and are enjoying their sets. I, along with a few others, are still awaiting our orders from EM. The anticipation is beginning to wane.. :D

You'll be very happy when you receive yours.

The set is gorgeous (very fitting for a BH release). (It's very, very heavy; another poster mentioned the need for wrist supports . . this is true!)

Ironically, the vendor I reordered from was slightly cheaper (inclusive of postage) than what I initially paid the original vendor (who was asking for more postage on top). It also arrived in perfect condition (considering the weight of the package, that's an accomplishment), without any additional customs taxes either. Like I said, very happy.

The sound (on what I have heard so far) is great. I have no complaints whatsoever about this wonderful release. This is a glorious and fun—beautiful too—specialty release for this lifelong fan. :smt023

Does anyone know why the 12 second false start on take 18 of Slicin Sand was not included on the BH CDs?

Did Ernst not have access to that?

According to Keith Flynn’s site, absolutely everything else was included.

It’s seems a shame that the audio is 99.99% complete.

It doesn’t bother me, but i am curious why it wasn’t included?

Awesome! I know you had problems initially, so I’m glad everything worked out with the second vendor and you’re happy with your purchase!

Really enjoying the Blue Hawaii book and even learned something I wasn’t aware concerning Jenny Maxwell being killed along with her husband in 81.

Who knows? It's clearly the most exciting 12 second false start in the entire Presley recorded canon.

On page 53 (music book) is a scan of the tape-box with takes 1-12 of 'Can't Help Falling In Love'. Interesting.
Is the box in the archives but not the tape? Or did they get their hands on the scan by other means?

FTD needs to do something to reduce the weight of these books. Blue Hawaii, weighs 6 kg, my dealer said the cheapest shipping costs 89 euros !!! Almost half the price of the book.
