I'm not from Cincinnati and I don't know what you mean about REO or bubble bath. I do, however, enjoy wearing short pants when I can and now is one of those times.

But they are about to come off. Private message me for pictures.

I appreciate that, but you don't know what you're asking.

A little of me goes a very long way.

Jeez, you people got me nearly convinced to take yet another bite of the MSG apple!
Hey Pete, what do you mean by “you people”?

Lemme stop.
What I mean by "you people" is all the folks talking up this MSG release.
I know Pete, I was just messing. 😊

Yeah, it’s essentially mastered like a soundboard recording. No need for that if you are working with a mix created from high-fidelity multitrack sources.

Hard to appreciate this new mix when the balance of instruments, background vocals, orchestra, etc. is all gone in favor of elevating everything to the same level.

The new Aloha mix doesn’t sound like that at all, you can clearly hear all the instruments and vocals and experience the dynamics of songs between softer and louder passages.
Really? How do you know that. To me it sounds like there is more spacing between the instruments. especially the bass and drums have a nice platform. I thought PFAP was the ultimate sound, but this is much better. A more intense listening experience.

I wasn't expecting much of a sound difference with this set but the June 10th afternoon concert blew my socks off. I don't think I have heard a better sounding multi-track Elvis release. The evening show also seems like an improvement from previous releases but it's still not as good as the afternoon show, in my opinion.
I think FTD did a great job with this release. I have enjoyed the hell out of it.

YDKM wrote:I just listened to the sat night E/S. from June 10th and it was during side 2 starting with the Impossible Dream that I started hearing pleasant music that I had not heard before, also a lovely sound on "For the Good Times", so without doubt an audio improvement. The liner notes were quite nice too.
And is it mastered ok, not too much ear ache going on? I found PFAP a bit sharp on the ears and generally an unpleasant listen so sold it on.

Sharpness gone, smooth bass lines and the audience is really out there. Go for it.
