According to the dialogue script (dated 14 january 1966) there's a duet version for Scratch my back.

Re: A look at Paradise, Hawaiian Style (1966)
Hi Colonel, I believe that you and I have talked about this before. I believe that a dialogue script is basically a transcript of the finished movie. So unless there were scenes cut from a movie just before it's release, the script would be word for word and scene for scene just like watching the movie.colonel snow wrote: ↑Sun Jul 16, 2023 6:17 pmAccording to the dialogue script (dated 14 january 1966) there's a duet version for Scratch my back.

Re: A look at Paradise, Hawaiian Style (1966)
"Paradise hawaiian style" is amongst the most beautifully filmed movies in the career of Elvis Presley but the worst, in every possible way. I can still remember taking my then closest friend to the top cinema in Lima, one which a month earlier had been the venue where Paul Anka had appeared. I paid three dollars to see him.right here. The photo was taken about three months before I saw "Paradise Hawaiian style", and specifically on the day "Cat Ballou" opened in Lima.

Anyways, this was in July of 1967. My buddy, born two weeks before me, was already a fan of the Doors, and I have never been more embarrassed than on that afternoon. The huge cinema, was almost empty, and when Elvis appeared, and I was in shock, he told me he had already seen it in the US, as he was then attending La Salle Military Academy in NY state. I asked him then, why didnt he request I take him to another movie ( he was sort of my guest in Lima) to which he replied that he wanted to see my reaction, in loco. LOL.
The only interesting things about this movie is what happened during and after the locale shoot, the meeting with the Hermits, his visiting the Arizona Memorial, then back in LA his meeting with Tom Jones, capped by Queen Elizabeth II asking Suzanna Leigh, at the receiving line of a Variety Gala show in late 1965, to tell HER if she knew when Elvis was coming to the UK. LOL In the photo, the late Queen is exchanging salutations with someone who had also been in an Elvis movie, but in an uncredited role some two years earlier.

Minutes later, we see one exquisite actress who by her own account, could not convince Elvis to take her to bed, in Vegas, on August 10, 1969 (a terrible day in LA, but Elvis was unaware of it), as well as another beauty to whom Elvis gifted in March of 1963, a 1958 BMW 507, which sold at Sotheby's in 2011 for US1.007,000

On December 4, 1968, from a phone booth at my own military academy in Miami, I called my friend, who was near his high school graduation, as I was, and asked him what he thought of the 1968 NBC special broadcast nationally the night before. He didnt see it, but two decades later I showed it to him, in Europe, and he was floored. I also called him the next March, of 1969, when I saw the Doors most infamous concert. He was floored, as he never saw the Doors. LOL

Re: A look at Paradise, Hawaiian Style (1966)
Leading men and/or leading women in Hollywood are paid to look good... it's been that way since the existence of film and it's the same today. Out of the 31 feature films Elvis made, he looked fantastic in 30 of them. Elvis didn't look good in Paradise Hawaiian Style.Lonely Summer wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 4:57 amRegarding PHS, are you saying Elvis didn't do his job? What was disturbing about the weight gain? Should the stars be starving themselves to look good on camera?

Looked a little chunky in the face in Spinout, and a little pale in Clambake. Re: A look at Paradise, Hawaiian Style (1966)
True... by 1960s Elvis Presley standards...
And overweight in Frankie And Johnny, but looked great in most scenes.
Let's remember that is was the PHS, and F And J album covers that Colonel Parker/RCA chose to use older/previous photos of Elvis.

Add Frankie and Johnny. Look how he fills the pant legs when seated.
Compare it with how he looked for Girl Happy, also seated and inspite of wearing jeans.

Of course, but the movie has several scenes where he looks overweight. Now, when IPaul Allen wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2023 5:41 pmI already did, but Elvis sure looked cool in several scenes!
saw this movie for the first time in a cinema, I noticed immediately that Elvis looked his best in one scene, this one, the intro with the red shirt. This is the best looking person on earth.

I never noticed Elvis or his red shirt in that scene before. I was too busy staring at Nancy Kovack and Donna Douglas!

The best looking person on earth? Maybe Tony Curtis, Paul Newman or Steve McQueen.

Re: A look at Paradise, Hawaiian Style (1966)
Not in front of Elvis, as the tallest of those three was 1.75cm tall. It makes a difference, especially in the world of art. Same when you are too tall, as seen in the photos below. LOL. Moreover, this is what the most beautiful woman in the world, a former cover girl, model and actress extraordinaire, whose job was to be surrounded by beautiful péople, said in her bio.jurasic1968 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2023 6:37 pmThe best looking person on earth? "Anyways, after his midnight show,I spent about fifteen minutes with him, in the hope to take him to bed, but there is a limit to what a woman can say to arouse a man, even for a French woman. I have yet to see, to this day, a more strikingly beautiful man..

Look at handsome James Fox as he loses all his appeal when standing. together with normal looking people LOL

Elvis Presley at his peak, when Catherine Deneuve met him. Absolutely no make up, mascara, nothing but a fantastic dye LOL https://scontent.fmga3-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.6435-9/91465231_3723112571063328_3107423600458596352_n.jpg?_nc_cat=102&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=cdbe9c&_nc_ohc=iep3B9OTki4AX9xFT_r&_nc_ht=scontent.fmga3-2.fna&oh=00_AfCyGo1GOqr_ORIxsL3y_VXkUaHLfX_xFYooqdK700Md5g&oe=64DCCACF
Finally, as to height, here is what Andy Warhol answered when asked a by a reporter why was Elvis the only person who he had silkscreened from head to toe". His answer, "His height was right".

Elvis liked very much Tony Curtis. He dyed his hair black after he saw Tony's movies.
