3 New FTD releases (late june 2023)

I'm guessing the price of the live set is a mistake. I very much doubt that FTD have reduced the price of something by £13 (compared to the last 3CD soundboard set).

It's converted from Australian dollars which is their primary currency. That amount will change from day to day.

What I'm doing is pointing out that this member consistently puts down Follow That Dream releases, as well as the FTD team. The rhetoric is employed for studio as well as soundboard titles, through three different memberships and log-in names.

His goal, really, is to cause chaos and draw attention. It's exhausting.

Cheer up, Doc. Every dedicated Elvis fan has a deep respect for Ernst and Roger. I have been a member here for 20 years and I have never once uttered a negative word about these guys, and I am not about to start now. Ernst is the reason I am here in the first place - it all started with "A Life In Music", maybe the greatest book I have read about any artist. I adore the guy. However, I was very disappointed with that last soundboard and FTD's deciscion to not correct the mistake. They offerred replacements for "So High" and "Fool". Why not this one? That is all I'm asking. There may be a good reason for it. It that is the case then it would be nice to know what it is, too. I don't think this is being hysterical or disrespectful. I think it makes perfect sense to expect a CD to run at the correct speed. I am fine with slight variations that can barely be heard but that last one was just too much, and you know it too.

I worry about a few things in life. Probably less than most. However, I NEVER worry about a show from 1974. You also do not have to hear it. You choose to hear it when you make these purchases. Well, let me put your fears to rest, little buckaroo. I'm going to purchase this without worry or fear and I will gladly let you know how they are because I intend to enjoy them very much.

Hey, don't knock Shane. As the recent FTD soundboard shows, the guy has a point. Not only did they ruin Elvis' performance by releasing it at the wrong speed, they also refused to acknowledge the problem, or give any sort of response to desperate fans asking for a solution or at least an explanation. So, after all these years, I have finally realized that Shane's miserable rants actually have some truth in them. Shane is not Mr. Unhappy anymore. He's a rockstar now. Well almost... he still gets carried away sometimes... or actually most of the time... but not when he's talking about messed-up soundboards.

It's easier to get in touch with Neil Young than the FTD team. Neil has issued a truckload of archive material in recent years. Two or three discs have included the wrong mix. Fans have sent their complaints directly to Neil himself. Neil has answered on his website and just admitted that his team has messed up. The discs have been replaced. Food for thought.

Neil Young, really? You fail to note he is alive, and remains an active artist, fully involved in 21st century technology and social media. You also fail to note that he personally controls every aspect of his work, current and historic.

Could this be why Young is directly responsive to his fans?

It's funny that people worry about hearing setlists too often while the truth is they bought already hundreds of shows, very often audience recordings.
Sometimes the same show several times (even as audience recordings) just because this time the recording is a little less noisy.
I can't really take them serious.
Obsessive compulsive disorder and they worry about hearing similar setlists after buying hundreds of shows.

I sure hope FTD has quality control figured out as there is so much product coming out in such a short space of time.

Hopefully you also have the Legacy Edition of Today as well because I believe the masters on Legacy are in better sound than the FTD from 2005.

Besides, the 2 releases I did order cost me $233 CDN from Adrian so I have to draw the line somewhere... oh and I just bought the MSG and Blue Hawaii releases. Unless something spectacular comes out, I'd say my quota for 2023 is spent...

I totally agree whilst the cost of living crisis has affected everything this is sure the MOST I have ever paid for FTD releases and that surely suck/hurts?

Also, the Legacy version has the best sounding Dallas '75 show that I've heard.
