Re: Elvis The Man And His Music 140
Recieved mine already this morning and with the weather the way it is in the Uk at the moment it looks like a few drinks and the new FTD's through headphones while reading this issue out in the garden this afternoon. Thanks for what looks like another wonderful issue.

You wont regret it. There is always that little bit more of the puzzle to be found. Nice info on the Gloden Records series looking forward to to the rest of this. Interesting piece on The Colonel & Tom Jones' manager. Excellent review of the Making of Blue Hawaii. I like the CD reviews in this issue, written with a 3rd party involved, brutally true but also written with a little fun added. Great issue. Thanks ETNAHM

Over the years, I don’t believe I’ve ever received an issue that I didn’t enjoy.rollinson1 wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 9:41 amYou wont regret it. Re: Elvis The Man And His Music 140
Enjoyed the latest issue of Elvis The Man And His Music. Great articles and reviews as always. Especially liked the review of the Blue Hawaii set, part two of the Alfred Wertheimer interview and the first of the series looking at the Golden Records releases.

Would like to add that the 3 FTD's announced are advertised in this issue which tells me they know well in advance what will be released before it is announced to the public, little blighters.

As much as we know Chris is a big fan, we also know that it is a buisness, a job of work at the end of the day so maybe they are not thinking about the shop while enjoying some time away. I know when I'm on holiday the last thing I would think about is work.

Re: Elvis The Man And His Music 140
No one has suggested that ETMAHM has pulled a fast one their service is superb, it is why I use them. My original post where I called them little blighters was tongue in cheek. I was originally surprised when I got my copy to see the advertisements, but why should'nt they know in advance. It is not like the only people that buy FTD product are on this forum. In fact very few are on this forum and maybe even some today do not access the internet the way we do so would rely on magazines such as ETMAHM for information regarding releases etc.sweetangeline wrote: ↑Mon May 29, 2023 2:38 pmI really don't think Chris cares one bit whether or not they are listed now or when he comes back. It's not like his customers who buy FTD products are going to think he is not getting them in and to suggest that EMM somehow pulled a fast one here in my mind is really stretching it to say the least. Plus these products are not being released until the end of June and Chris is back June 8.

Re: Elvis The Man And His Music 140
If someone wishes to be "tongue in cheek" with regards to their posts that's fine but sometimes that can be difficult to interpret and this was clearly one of those cases to the point that even ETMAHM was not sure as clearly an earlier post (now gone) showed. There has been many times on this messageboard where it was the exact opposite. So for every reader to "read it properly" is asking for a miracle here especially when many times in the past it was done just to cause chaos so to speak and that has come from good outstanding members as well. So to start deleting or removing posts is not the answer. Say what you want according to the guidelines but don't expect every single reader to understand it every single time because that's asking way to much to begin with. Tongue in cheek can be used and called after the fact by some as simply a way out and nothing more.

Re: Elvis The Man And His Music 140
True it IS a very good issue and I especially enjoyed the detailed 'Wertheimer two' interview, however (as usual) it's the compact disc reviews that annoy me, firstly the assistant to Trevor keeps saying the shows are all the same (the Madison Square Gardenrollinson1 wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 9:41 amYou wont regret it. A/S + E/S's )being a case in point as the track listing is quite different, then they continue to rubbish the 'Let Me Be There' cd set release from FTD, then moving onto Bootlegs the 'off the record volumes 1 +2' is listed as January 28th + 29th shows(when the shows are from Auguat 1972) ! Pity that section is full of errors(as if they do not care?) As otherwise it is a really good issue of the magazine to read.

Indeed but their weakest pages are the latest cd reviews. ....they read like they do not even want to write those reviews!
