Re: The Making OF Blue Hawaii
It would have probably been better to add your post to the existing thread on the Blue Hawaii FTD release https://www.elvis-collectors.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=114991#p1934891 instead of starting a new one. I’m sure I have that DT boxset along with a couple of others tucked away in a cupboard somewhere. Unlike Blue Hawaii, I doubt we will see an FTD equivalent on Double Trouble.

Re: The Making OF Blue Hawaii
It's ok that you open a new thread.
But at least write a review.
Just "I got it" doesn't warrant a thread.

Re: The Making OF Blue Hawaii
So are you suggesting that whenever someone gets a release, they create a new thread and then writes a review to justify it.tinseltown wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 8:30 pmIt's ok that you open a new thread.

Re: The Making OF Blue Hawaii
If it is a huge and substantial review, yes.
Better justified than 5 people opening each a thread with the question "where do you order x or y item"?
I am tired of those.

Re: The Making OF Blue Hawaii
I have to say that cannot recall seeing lots of separate threads on where do I order something from. It’s the ones that tell us that their copy had been shipped that I cannot understand and then the follow one that tells us it has arrived. It’s as bad as those sealed to reveal videos where the viewer has to go through the finding of a knife and then watching the presenter struggle with the knife in trying to cut through the packaging.tinseltown wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 9:15 pmIf it is a huge and substantial review, yes.

Re: The Making OF Blue Hawaii
Keith Flynn has updated his Session Notes to include the Making Of Blue Hawaii FTD release:
https://www.keithflynn.com/recording-sessions/60_index_01.html
https://www.keithflynn.com/recording-sessions/610321.html
https://www.keithflynn.com/recording-sessions/610322.html
https://www.keithflynn.com/recording-sessions/610323.html
Must say, I enjoy all the discs and the books are full of beautiful photos (perfect for the topic matter).
Was also impressed to see some nice photos from the '61 Pearl Harbor venue / events surrounding, including airport arrival.
(The only "complaint" I might have . . is the weight of the boxset . .
. . but, then again, maybe it really shouldn't be called a "complaint" because we were given so much
)
Glorious release

I didn't know that, I just saw it today (good to know, though, . . as always, Keith Flynn is on top of things . . so, I am not surprised).Spellbinder wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2023 8:55 amYamaguchi.Y wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2023 1:19 amKeith Flynn has updated his Session Notes to include the Making Of Blue Hawaii FTD release:

He hasn't broken any forum guideline here, so this topic is fine.
You telling him what to do, however, might be pressing your luck with our rules.

If 7 weeks is "ancient history," what is 20 years and 1 month of membership?

Re: The Making OF Blue Hawaii
Absolutely, yes. One of the top three of all the David English and Pål Granlund FTD book projects.
And such an exquisite title.

I said it didn't warrant a thread. And suggested that at least a review could have been written. That's not "telling him what to do".drjohncarpenter wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2023 11:11 pmtinseltown wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 8:30 pm

You really tell people all the time what to do.
Are you pressing your luck?
We all know you don't.
