Courtesy and Civility are Mandatory!
The forum here at FECC was created for individuals from all around the world to gather and discuss all facets of Elvis Presley, his music, his career, his achievements etc etc. As well as to be a part of a community of like-minded people.
Taking part in a forum with such global reach, and sharing thoughts/ideas for some members takes a lot of bravery.
The best part of the "forum" platform is that everyone is able to provide their own viewpoints and insight.
And when this is done in an amiable, thought provoking manner, it is a win-win situation for everyone.
When members are rude to each other, not only does it potentially negatively effect the person the rudeness is directed towards, but also towards everyone that reads the offending/rude post. In turn, it brings the whole atmosphere of the forum down.
Members should be able to disagree and "Debate" without being rude and insulting to each other. Some members here have displayed that this is possible. Thus, even in disagreement - if you debate without insults and rudeness, you bring the forum up another notch. Because you are actively participating in a positive way that is welcoming, and friendly to all!
When you became a member here at the FECC forum you agreed to obey the Guidelines.
Therefore, Courtesy and Civility are not just mere suggestions, but rather a requirement of membership here, and is mandatory FOR ALL.
When you are rude, arrogant and/or disrespectful, you are going against everything the forum was meant to achieve. A side effect of that, is having fewer people participate. And that again, is totally contrary to the whole forum platform. We should have MANY MANY people participating more. And I believe, in a welcoming environment they would!
So, with all of the above in mind - let us please be thoughtful and respectful to each other!
And by doing so, we can make FECC the best it can be!

I could not agree with your statement more Jordan, people would participate more and more people would participate. and in turn even everyone might gain.fecc-mechanic wrote: A side effect of that, is having fewer people participate. Re: Courtesy and Civility are Mandatory!
I totally agree with the OP on this. There should be more internet traffic on here but if you look at how some who are here criticize others for liking, say, the remixes, or duets or anything pertaining to modernization, they are heavily ridiculed with insults for it. There is a way to fix that though and it's simple. Ban them to send a strict message. I will say that I have been insulted by a certain few since my arrival for no apparent reason. Others have been respectful and stay within the rules. But I can say that my lack of involvement here lately is due to that behavior and should it continue will only make me and others not want to return. I was already told that this forum wasn't the friendliest place on the net and they were right about that. But sometimes change makes things better. It's up to those incharge to make those changes.

Re: Courtesy and Civility are Mandatory!
So much for the rule of being courteous and civilized. This forum has no clue what that even means.

Re: Courtesy and Civility are Mandatory!
I'm a "newbie," but it seems nice to me so far....
It's VERY SIMPLE....
If people would follow the set in stone Forum Guidelines as well as the etiquette of the www , there would be minimal problems, if any.
People should realize User IDs are not real names --- like TupeloHoneyBee? I mean, ree-al-ly? I just liked it for a number of reasons.
Please visit the "Goin to Graceland" category of my almost 11 yr. old website at the link below:

Be sure to follow all the links at the bottom of the pages, to "Separate Ways" Page 3!
More to come!

Well, the world of internet forums is a bit 'rough-and-tumble'.Gary1 wrote:Certainly no sign of any on this website.ColinB wrote:Care to name some names ?Suspicious Minds wrote:I wish some other forums have the courtesy and manners.

Re: Courtesy and Civility is Mandatory!
I certainly am not sensitive or have a thin skin but when i see people being continuously slagged off by the same person that does annoy me.especially when it's a rule that Courtesy and Civility are Mandatory which seems always to be ignored by the mods.ColinB wrote:Well, the world of internet forums is a bit 'rough-and-tumble'.Gary1 wrote:Certainly no sign of any on this website.ColinB wrote:Care to name some names ?Suspicious Minds wrote:I wish some other forums have the courtesy and manners.

Re: Courtesy and Civility are Mandatory!
I am a relative newbie to FECC and after a 'honeymoon period' i find that i receive PMs and insults to my messages because i ask questions or disagree with someone. A lot of on the FECC board are very fragile. I wish the moderators well in policing the messages.
ive learnt a lot on the board which I appreciate.

I am so glad to have this here. We all love Elvis's music at least some of it, let's all try to be cool together.
