That should read "latest Elvis concert".
Or are you all never ever gonna listen to an Elvis concert again?

Re: Last Elvis Concert You Listened To Was?
A well put together and satisfying Shreveport show
And although he started Baton Rouge strongly he seemed to run out of steam after the intros, still a quite OK show though.

Re: Last Elvis Concert You Listened To Was?
Just listened to both shows and the sound is better during the A/S but still ok for the E/S.Both shows are similar with Elvis performing 3 different songs during each show. The biggest problem with both shows is the overly long and tedious intros!

I don't skip any part of any show. I, too, just listened to the Largo set and enjoyed it.

Re: Last Elvis Concert You Listened To Was?
Downtown Long Beach - November 15 - 1972, 8:30PM.
This is a fantastic show and easily one of my favourite shows from 1972, alongside the excellent June 10th AS from New York. The sound is excellent throughout for an audience recording, it is clear and it feels like you are 'there'. I would say it is easily one of the best on tour audience recordings available. The set-list is brilliant too and it is different from April and june 1972. For example, there is no 'American Trilogy' or 'Bridge over troubled water', but there are brilliant versions of 'Little Sister / Get Back' and 'Burning Love'.
Elvis introduces Lisa Marie after singing 'fever' saying "this is the first-time she's seen her Daddy make a fool of himself", then Elvis sings an excellent version of 'you gave me a mountain'. I found this introduction quite emotional following Lisa's sad passing last week. I personally would like this concert to be released by FTD as this great label as not covered this tour yet and as it is an excellent concert that deserves to be heard officially.

You’ve sold me on this show I’m going to loook around and see if I can locate it. 1972 is my favorite year concert wise. And I’m unfamiliar with this tour don’t have a thing from this tour in my collection I don’t believe.flamingstar81 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 6:47 pmDowntown Long Beach - November 15 - 1972, 8:30PM.

That's great Beale, it's an excellent concert, I am sure you would be very happy with it. I agree, 1972 was a fantastic concert, so many brilliant songs and Elvis' voice had so much power and passion.Beale wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 7:13 pmYou’ve sold me on this show I’m going to loook around and see if I can locate it. 1972 is my favorite year concert wise. Re: Last Elvis Concert You Listened To Was?
Im listening to this atm , and yes its not the greatest sounds but Ive heard worse. The begining and when it changes to suspicious minds i think it gets abit rough but then again it gets better. Im about to listen to The praise to the king afterwards. These have just arrived in the last few weeks to add to my collection

Re: Last Elvis Concert You Listened To Was?

I listened to the disc 5 studio and rehearsal sessions. Then I finally heard the long awaited Hampton Roads show. Man, what a show this is! I wanted to put the never before heard "Never Been To Spain" on repeat, but I fought the urge. The sound is fantastic through my Bose headphones and my Maxwell House coffee never tasted better. Someone recently stated here that Elvis in 1972 was boring. You'd better check your pulse, pal, because I'm pretty sure you're almost dead.
Loving this set and worth EVERY penny I paid for it.

Re: Last Elvis Concert You Listened To Was?
I agree Rob, this is an excellent boxset, and 1972 was a brilliant concert year for Elvis. In my opinion, there were no 'weak' shows during this year in both Las Vegas and on tour, the shows were either very good or excellent. Elvis had great stage showmanship too and his voice was excellent, singing with power and passion, especially on songs like bridge over troubled water and an American trilogy.Rob wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 3:24 pm

Re: Last Elvis Concert You Listened To Was?
Madison's Breathing Out Fire CD, which features Elvis's October 6th, 1974, evening show in Dayton, Ohio. It's a pretty rough show for the most part, especially when Elvis takes to the stage at first. This was a problematic tour in numerous respects, and whilst Elvis is audibly struggling, it does sound like he's at least trying to put on a show as the concert progresses. He doesn't manage to truly come to life and his singing is often below par, but at least his mood isn't sour, which is a small mercy.
I hadn't listened to this concert in years and thought on a whim that it was worth revisiting. The design of the booklet is appealing and the choice of photographs are sufficient enough for my liking as somebody who isn't inclined to buy a lot of Elvis photo books.

Re: Last Elvis Concert You Listened To Was?
I thought I had this show on The Profile Boxset Vol 2 but it's the matinee show. I'm tempted to listen to this one again to see if it's any better than the Evening show that you listened to. I think a lot of the time it's not just the medication I think that Elvis is tired a lot of the time.Greystoke wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 12:02 amMadison's Breathing Out Fire CD, which features Elvis's October 6th, 1974, evening show in Dayton, Ohio. I'm sure this matinee show is on another CD title but right off hand I can't think what. About 10 years ago or so nearly all the CD's had lavish booklets with great information and photos pertaining to the show. I don't think you get that as much these days.
