Elvis' voice sounds almost comical on the 3rd CD of the Let Me Be There FTD...

Re: CONCERTS AT WRONG SPEED
Oh, it's not that bad, guys. I'll just listen to this first and then it will sound normal.

The United States of America have had
forty-six Presidents, but only ONE King!
Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen.
You're a beautiful audience.

Re: CONCERTS AT WRONG SPEED
If you're okay with listening to mp3s then there's a much simpler way for adjusting the speed for complete shows called "MP3 Speed".
I've used it for my own transfers quite a bit and think the results are pretty good. MP3s can be creating up to 320 kBit/44100/Stereo or any lower setting you desire.
The tool can be downloaded for free at www.mp3-cutter-splitter.com

Re: CONCERTS AT WRONG SPEED
Thanks @emjel and @SteamrollerBlues for the detailed info and tutorial. I’ll have to get to work. I don’t have a big soundboard collection but I definitely want to hear them at the right speed.

It’s just too bad we’re having these issues with FTD.Markus K. wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 8:56 amIf you're okay with listening to mp3s then there's a much simpler way for adjusting the speed for complete shows called "MP3 Speed".

I love the label and have always supported them thru the good and bad, but with all these examples of how to use these software tools and tutorials, it appears that they are just releasing them “as is”, just to get them out, over and done.
Maybe there are reasons for this level of care and sloppiness.
I don’t know, I am not part of the inside organization, but I know plenty of others, die hards even, that will not purchase these anymore due to these ongoing issues. Sad.

Re: CONCERTS AT WRONG SPEED
I've created this video tutorial to go along with emjel's post above mine for anyone who might find it helpful as well:
Thank you so so much.. The speed correction was very easy with audacity, but I have never played around with the REVERB tool. This does indeed create a more atmospheric sound on the soundboards. I may have to revisit some of my more favorite soundboards and "adjust" them a bit more. Again, thank you for the video and link.

That's great! Do you mind if I ask you do you ever change anything else like add reverb to make it concert like or change any other settings other than speed? I take it also that changing Speed means Tempo and Pitch will change automatically? I'm using Audacity. Re: CONCERTS AT WRONG SPEED
Changing speed changes tempo and pitch. I don't add any reverb to these shows, I like to keep it how it was recorded (ignoring the mastering by the engineer). I do however like to sort out the EQ balance in case Jan Eliasson has pushed the bass and highs too high, I do this using Ozone 10.SpyGuyUK wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 7:17 pmThat's great! Re: CONCERTS AT WRONG SPEED
I’m not trying to be pompous or anything, but yes, I can detect these just by listening. Somehow I was blessed with a natural ear for music, tempos, speed issues, What have you…SpyGuyUK wrote: ↑Sat Jun 25, 2022 3:10 amIt's good of Elvis2000 to do this for all of us to benefit from. If he hadn't done I must admit I may not have been any the wiser. I hadn't notice when listening as I assumed they wouldn't have had these issues.
I'm glad he did but did any of you notice these issues in the first place when listening on any of the titles that you own? I realise it can be corrected but if you don't notice it by ear how do you detect speed issues?![]()
Thank you all for everyone who has contributed, (especially Elvis2000) for this informative, fascinating thread. A real delight.

Re: CONCERTS AT WRONG SPEED
People keep buying and that is the problem. If Fans would say , no we expect more for what you are charging and want what we pay for then they would pay attention. But they sooner learned that it doesn’t matter. They make a 3cd set and charge $60 bux and throw it together quickly or include a book for a couple hundred and they buy them like hotcakes. So with a fan base like they have quality is never the concern. In the end Greed and money is the motivation

And also the fact that there are now 3 discs each time doesn't help. There's no need for them to be 3 discs sets. There's nothing really linking them together. In the case of the new set, it's a case of pairing the much-requested Astrodome concert with two unrelated run of the mill ones so they can charge more. It wouldn't have been so obvious if the others were from the same your/month.Rocker77 wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 9:38 pmPeople keep buying and that is the problem. Re: CONCERTS AT WRONG SPEED
Exactly. This seems to be the norm now. Just throw a good show with 2 mediocre ones. It will sell. Keep buying them cd’s folks lol. I know Memphis Recording Service is hated in this forum by several select folks but you have to admit, sound and packaging is way ahead of FTD on some of their live releases. . I hope they release a 1974 set so I can at least enjoy listening to it. I am sure the packaging will be awesome too. FTD seems to be like everything else. Quality is a thing if the past. Don’t get me wrong I like FTD and have several of their releases , or what I can afford. But they seem to be out pricing themselves and the quality does not match up on some things.pmp wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 11:31 pmAnd also the fact that there are now 3 discs each time doesn't help. The sound on the MRS releases have been dreadful ever since they started using the fake stereo technology.Rocker77 wrote: ↑Mon May 29, 2023 7:00 amExactly. This seems to be the norm now. Re: CONCERTS AT WRONG SPEED
You find two from a period already well-covered by other releases. Then you take the tapes, transfer them at the wrong speed, and think "ah, who cares, they'll pay for then anyway."Ciscoking wrote: ↑Mon May 29, 2023 7:37 pmOne question...just to get it straight...ever listened to 2 never released in any form shows...dont know how it works...ya know I am a beginner.Rocker77 wrote: ↑Mon May 29, 2023 7:00 amExactly.
