FTD - No plans to end anytime soon...

#1633156

Post by Jukebox Jam »

FTD will NOT end in 2019:

A fair number of uninformed supposed Elvis "insiders" (even some Fan Club Presidents)
have been publishing fictional stories that the FTD label is planning to close in 2019.
Ernst Jorgensen had strongly denied this story stating, that FTD has plans to continue for the foreseeable future.
In an interesting interview about 'The Future of FTD' - with Trevor Cajiao in the recent ETM&HM magazine -
Ernst Jorgensen's main points were....
1. FTD will not be closing in 2019
2. The 'Classic Albums" series is nearly complete but there are more to come,
noting 'Aloha' and 'Madison Square Garden' are still to be done.
3. Expanded "complete session tapes" releases are being considered
4. Plenty more soundboards to come

~ To read the complete story including answers about FTD deletions and other future ideas
please read the December issue of ETM&HM.

Great news !

Joe Krein interview with Sherril Nielsen: "YOU KNOW YOU FORGET HOW GOOD HE REALLY WAS. I SAID MY GOODNESS. YOU KNOW WHEN YOU ARE WITH HIM YOU ARE SO WRAPPED UP DOING THE SHOW, BUT HERE NOW 20 YEARS LATER, I HEAR HIM AND REALIZE WHAT A GREAT TALENT HE WAS. HE WAS THE REAL DEAL.

Has anyone in the US received the issue yet ? I'm still waiting for my copy to arrive. Perhaps the Christmas mail season is slowing it down.. :?

Mike-
Thanks. You made me look a little further into this. Seems that my subscription ended with the last issue. Wouldn't you know it ? I was looking forward to the article on the show I saw in Cincinnati, and my subscription has expired. Oh well, I just renewed. I guess I'll have to be patient and I'll just have to wait a little longer to read it than everyone else.

If the “complete session tapes were released in session order year by year then I would buy it.
