Thanks to Matt for colorizing the front cover photo.
I hope you all like this one.
Cheers!

Re: Elvis In Concert
I like the original album cover much better. I also much prefer the original back cover. That front is NOT a good picture.
I do like you, though, and I think you're a good clean fellow.

Re: Elvis In Concert
Thanks for your comments, Rob...the problem with the original album was the photos did not reflect the way Elvis looked in 1977. I have tried to make the CD cover more representative of the way he looked in June 1977.
Cheers, mate!

Re: Elvis In Concert
Elvis' album after '73 were always a few years behind, a shot from 1973 on 'Today', and likewise a shot from '72 on Good Times, and of course a shot from '75 on EIC (there were certainly better shots they could have chosen from 75 as well)CountCanada wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 6:28 pmThanks for your comments, Rob...the problem with the original album was the photos did not reflect the way Elvis looked in 1977. This I reckon would be the best looking shot from '77 they could have used for the cover, from Knoxville I think

Re: Elvis In Concert
I have great affection for the album, but, I can see why they used the photo's they did. The final curtain got the overall balance right.
Here's my quick attempt at something similar with more flattering pictures

Re: Elvis In Concert
There's quite a few good 77 shots that could have been used for the cover art.
The problem with RCA & the colonel during this period was that the alternative photos they used from 72 - 75 were sometimes no less flattering than the later shots they chose to avoid.
If the photographs had been carefully chosen, there's no reason why they couldn't have used shots from the final tour for the EIC album, and more appropriate photos for Moody Blue. (Although the latter was a nice design despite the use of much earlier photos).
