Re: Google Chrome Has Stopped Working - Error Message - HELP
The link is probably the answer, but if you're using RealPlayer 16, it crashed my Flash, and messed up Facebook. I uninstalled the entire RealPlayer program, and called them, and got a refund. The end of that. (You have about 10 days from registering the program to get the refund. I called 'em on the phone, a few days before Christmas.)
Flash just issued an update a few days ago. Install it. Also, the "pepperflash" auto-plugin that Chrome uses often causes problems. I have disabled it, and use the regular Flash that is downloaded. It's not all that stable, "pepperflash."
If you want to see it, do this. Type "Chrome://plugins" into the address bar, and both versions of Flash should be on top. Disable "pepperflash," and make sure you have the latest version of the genuine Flash. You can do it the way it says in the article as well. Either way, you will have disabled pepperflash, and enabled the real Flash. And DO get the latest version.
As for the RealPlayer functions, well, there are other programs. It's just not worth it because version 16 is SO bad. They gave me a refund QUICK! It is really bad, and maybe it'll get better, but doesn't seem like it has. (I am looking into Nero. It's more expensive, but does most of what RealPlayer does, at least. Maybe more.)

Re: Google Chrome Has Stopped Working - Error Message - HELP
I agree with rjm 100%.
RealAudio is like 8-Tracks to the PC world these days, if it wasn't for the fact that RealPlayer started licensing to use avi, flv, mp4 and such, it wouldn't have survived as long as it has. The problem is it now, it wants to integrate, and take over these formats from other sources that were designed to properly handle them correctly in the first place, causing system conflicts.
My recommendation - uninstall it. you don't need it and ".ra" formats are a thing of the past anyway.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RealAudio
RealAudio is a proprietary audio format developed by RealNetworks and first released in April 1995. It uses a variety of audio codecs, ranging from low-bitrate formats that can be used over dialup modems, to high-fidelity formats for music. It can also be used as a streaming audio format, that is played at the same time as it is downloaded. In the past, many internet radio stations used RealAudio to stream their programming over the internet in real time. In recent years, however, the format has become less common and has given way to more popular audio formats. RealAudio was heavily used by the BBC websites until 2009, though was it discontinued due to its declining use. BBC World Service, the last of the BBC websites to use RealAudio, discontinued its usage in March 2011.

Re: Google Chrome Has Stopped Working - Error Message - HELP
Thank you all so much for the info. Shockwave Flash crashes EVERYTIME now. I'll try out that link and remove RP. Besides, I can always use WMP to watch stuff.
I tried that link and the original Chrome error message isn't showing up but the Shockwave Flash still crashes. Did someone here say that it had recently been updated?

Try a programm called "update checker". It checks what programms you have on your PC and after a few minutes leads you to a site where you get a list of what version of the programm you have and the newest version. You can then download the newest version.
Be carefull with downloading and installing beta versions as these may conflict with the operating programm on your PC i.e. if you run Windows 7 the beta version may be for Windows 8.
http://www.filehippo.com/updatechecker/
I use this programm for years and it never fails me.
Also try a programm called crap cleaner a.k.a. ccleaner
It removes a lot of trash from your PC and sorts out the registry.
If you let the programm make a back-up when it suggest so, you can go back to the old situation if something stops working.
However, I use this programm for years and it always does it work o.k.

Re: Google Chrome Has Stopped Working - Error Message - HELP
To clarify, Flash was just updated. Download it. And after uninstalling RealPlayer, use a trusted registry cleaner. It comes with Norton, and cleans up after an uninstall.
The Registry is this "secret" catacomb that tells Windows where everything is. Errors are bad, and an uninstall will leave scraps behind. So it needs to be tidied up. Get a solid one. (Back in the day, I could edit the Registry manually. Not today!)
Make sure the Flash on your PC is for Windows, since you have an IPad. No IOS software should ever be on Windows. I don't know how your cloud works between 'em. I have Android mobile, so there's never any conflicts. My cloud is Dropbox, which I love!
I get selected ITunes playlists on my Note II through amazon. Works nice. No conflicts.

Re: Google Chrome Has Stopped Working - Error Message - HELP
For anyone with similar problems: here's a screenshot of the chrome plugins. Just type "chrome://plugins" into the address bar, hit enter, and here you will be.
If it says "enable" this means it is not working. You only need ONE version of Flash, and ideally, it should not be pepperflash. If it says "disable," then it IS working, and make your decision. You should use the real Flash. Just type "Shockwave Flash" into Google, and go the site to download. It should say you are "Windows." That's all it needs. Hit download. Works very quickly.
Make sure RealPlayer is GONE, and that you have cleaned up your Registry with a good Registry cleaner after uninstalling. If any other program shows up in an error message, that could be the culprit. Anything that tries to mess with Flash, could cause this type of problem: video programs, for instance.
Here you go:
This should solve the Flash problems. If not, something else is wrong, and you need a diagnostic tool.

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
