Providence recordings
Doc,
Just wondering, are there any soundboards, multi-tracks, or audience recordings from the multiple times that Elvis played in Providence RI?
I'm new to the forum so I'm sorry if this has been discussed.
Thanks.

Re: Providence recordings
There are two Straight Arrow releases of note:
Matinee Majesty - Stereo AR of the 6/26/1976 afternoon show
Funny How Time Slips Away - Stereo AR of the 5/23/1977 show
The 6/26/1976 evening show and one of the 1974 shows are available as ARs on tape.
There is 10 minutes or so of footage of the 1977 show on Youtube. There is also some 1976 footage online.
Hope that helps! I attended three of the Providence shows. Would love to connect with you if you have photos, footage and/or recordings of your own.

Re: Providence recordings
Thanks elvisjock and Doc. Since they're 76 and 77 concerts, how would you rate Elvis' performance?
I'm assuming the TCB Band is great as usual

They sound exactly like you'd expect for concerts from 1976 and 1977.TCB Band wrote:Thanks elvisjock and Doc. Since they're 76 and 77 concerts, how would you rate Elvis' performance?

Re: Providence recordings
He did pretty well on that June/July tour. The July 5 Memphis show would be a good comparison.
1977 was unremarkable. No where near the struggle of Omaha, yet not at the level of Rapid City.

Re: Providence recordings
I bought a photo album a few years ago and this one was in it. It's from the afternoon show on 26th June 1976. I figured out when it was from by checking Francesc's concert database and there were a couple that were taken at almost the same time, belonging to Cathi Avenell. Cathi's were taken with a 35mm and this one was taken with an Instamatic.

Re: Providence recordings
Doc, just wondering if you've determined how you'd rate the the Providence concerts, not that I don't value elvisjock's opinion; just would like to hear a second.
Also wondering your opinion of the December 31, 1976 Pittsburgh and June 21, 1977 Rapid City concerts; I know obviously Elvis fans, especially you because of your posts, enjoy Elvis in his 1969-1970 period, but interested in your views because these are apparently better later-era concerts.

Re: Providence recordings
Doc, could you possibly PM me? I have a few questions and I know your function is disabled but if it's ok with you, I feel like it'd be easier to talk that way.
