Re: Fort Hood interview, May 1958
So great to see a fresh topic from you!
This one is a joy to read, an interview new to my eyes, given at Fort Hood in late May 1958.
Not sure who Joan Leonard was, but she asked some smart and tough questions, and Elvis gave her answers in the same manner. The singer recalled meeting her for the first time "on the set of Jailhouse Rock."
Who knew that singer Charlie Applewhite gave him some Army advice?
I knew little of him until I did some digging:

I love these quotes from Presley:
"But I can't get the beat if I stand still ... Me and the music, we just take off together."
"... I don't think much when I'm singing, but I feel a whole lot."
Excellent stuff, right from the man himself. And this image is new to me as well:
Thanks, as always. Your topics are super-valuable to any serious fan of Elvis Presley's life and music.
