Thanks SO much for this article. It was a thrill to read what Geoarge Klein had to say about Elvis back when it all happened.

When I was a child I was a dreamer,
I read comic books and I was the hero of the comic book
And I saw movies and I was the hero in the movie
So every dream I´ve ever dreamed has come true a hundred times.

Re: An Evening with Elvis Presley (TV Radio Mirror, April 19
Thank you very much, wonderful article!! (do you have some bigger scans, please? You know me...)
The Elvis' visit at WMC radio station was in September 56, and George visit at Audubon house was in October 1956, after 19 oct, when "Elvis", his second album, was out. The dates are right? I don't know the exact dates, i'm sorry.
George said in his book that the photo below was taken when he visited Elvis, in October 56, but this photo is from Loving You set, February 1957, maibe late march 57.
Anyway, i MUST read George's book, i just read some parts and it's a very good book.

Another fascinating upload! Thank you.The fool wrote:From the April 1957 issue of TV Radio Mirror magazine.
An Evening with Elvis
By George Klein
This appears to have been written circa December 1956, just before Elvis set out for Ed Sullivan in January 1957, and Hollywood the following month. So the stories about Elvis in high school and the summer after graduation are fresh, no more than three and a half years earlier. And most of what George recalls fits in well with the known record, too. Too bad there are no hidden "nuggets" of information, although I'll revisit the article tonight to make sure.

George is mistaken in his book.hilton22000 wrote:George said in his book that the photo below was taken when he visited Elvis, in October 56, but this photo is from Loving You set, February 1957, maybe late march 57.
All of these photos were taken in Memphis in late March 1957, just before Klein was invited to come along with Presley on his March-April 1957 tour. George was between radio jobs then, and gladly signed on. It may have been when George accompanied Elvis to Hollywood at the end of April 1957, for the filming of MGM's "Jailhouse Rock," that he got a nose job, courtesy of his Memphis chum.

Thank you SO much! You have so much glorious material, and it's so wonderful of you to take the time to scan it and share it! (It's not that easy, really - it's work, so it's very much appreciated!)
And this was an absolute gem! All sorts of things tied together. About June arriving with Gladys and Vernon, just as she recalled, and DJ's drums in Kansas City (which was laughed about on the '68 Special), and a guard AND a cop at the house after the gas station incident, because Gladys wanted additional security (and Elvis was stuck in the house - by Gladys, according to June). And so much else! And this is better than a recent book, because it's much closer to when the things actually happened.
Gosh, thank you!

P.S. -- I think of the Note II, as the "Enhanced for FECC Mobile Device." That's it.

This is long, but worth it!!! (It's history, this video!)
Samsung Galaxy Note II Phablet Sells Three Million+ In One Month+ Of Sales, ~3X Faster Sales Rate Than Original Galaxy Note
NATASHA LOMAS Friday, November 2nd
Turns out there are an awful lot of phablet fans out there. More than three million, in fact, have lined up to cram Samsung’s latest smartphone-cum-tablet, the Galaxy Note II, in their oversized pockets. It took 37 days for the device to pass three million sales. The Korean mobile maker originally confirmed these figures to AP, and has also now confirmed them to TechCrunch.
The Note II was released initially in South Korea in September, with sales to other markets — including the U.S. and the U.K. — kicking off in October.
The three million figure is a 3x ramping up of early sales of the original Galaxy Note, which shipped around one million units in its first month of sale (albeit, this was prior to its U.S. launch) — underlining how Samsung has not only pioneered the phablet category, but succeeded in building serious momentum for enormo-phones.
For some context, Apple sold more than five million of its latest iPhone 5 in its first weekend of sales. The iPhone 5′s screen size is not in the phablet category but is slightly larger than previous iPhones — 4 inches vs. 3.5 inches — a sign of the big pull Samsung’s big phones are having on the smartphone market.
Yesterday, Apple kicked off sales of its new smaller form factor tablet, the iPad Mini — a device that in no small part also owes its existence to Samsung’s Note devices, being both a counter strategy to mini tablets such as the Google Nexus but also enormo-phones like the Note.
