Re: Elvis´ Own Story! (1964 interview)
Great stuff. Takes time to think about it all. Many different aspects of his personality and the culture of the times.
If you weren't married after 25 then, there was tremendous social pressure. Two Beatles were married, remember. And so, he understood the ramifications. They were rumor-mongering - however unsaid.
But he really didn't want to be pushed. About anything. Couldn't invite him to dinner.
Fascinating. Thanks once again!

Re: Elvis´ Own Story! (1964 interview)
Interesting details in this magazine include:
- Presley claims he hasn't "any time for dates"
- Elvis secretly dated former Disney Mouseketeer Cheryl Holdridge?
Well, the teen star did grow into a lovely young lady.
Cheryl Holdridge, "The Girl Reporter" (ABC-TV, "Bewitched" - Thursday, November 5, 1964)
Note: episode filmed September 23, 1964
Of note in the section with gossip columnist May Mann, it's ironic to see the photograph of her with George Hamilton at the premiere of Hal Wallis' "Becket." This is the film Elvis considered a slap in the face -- he earned millions for Wallis making crap movies, and Wallis released big-budget award-getters with other stars, using that money.
It's neat to see a photo of Jayne Mansfield with her baby:
That infant grew up to be the gorgeous and talented Mariska Hargitay, TV star on NBC's "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit":
Oh, yeah, and there's at least one ... fascinating advertisement as well:
Ad for "The Pleasure Primer"
Enjoy rollicking bedside fun!
And this was offered in ... 1964!
As always, thank you!

Hi Guys!
This a photo of my Mom holding me and I'm holding the very same magazine that "the fool" posted on here.
I found this picture recently and I was suprised when I found that it was just being posted on the World's Greatest Elvis Message Board.
I think that I am 3 years old here. We are in our house in Florida. This proves at least one time in my life I was cute!

Finding this pictures means alot to me, I lost my Mom about 14 months ago. It's always great when you find a new picture of a loved one.
Thank you so much Kari for posting this picture for me. I'm old and useless on a computer.

Re: Elvis´ Own Story! (1964 interview)
Thank you for your wonderful photo, Mitch. This really makes history come alive. I bet there are very few photos like this. I´m sure there are photos of people with Elvis album covers. But I don´t think there are photos of people with Elvis magazine covers. So, thank you, Mitch! Great photo.Mitch wrote: Thank you so much Kari for posting this picture for me.
