Thanks, The fool, for another interesting post.

I like when Yvonne says "we had heard Elvis on the radio, but had never seen him".

But her memory is probably betraying her when she says Elvis sang "Blue Suede Shoes" that night. "Shoes" was recorded by Carl Perkins in mid-December 1955.

Thanks again !

This is a sweet memory but, like many, it's not entirely accurate. At the time of the 11-25-1955 show in Port Arthur, Texas, Carl Perkins had yet to record "Blue Suede Shoes," his signature song. That would happen at Sun in mid-December, and the single released shortly after. So no way did young Yvonne see him do it in Port Arthur that night. It also seems odd that Elvis would go on early. By this point he was a very hot act, and usually closed the programs that he was a part of.

Thanks for the share, I have all those "Elvis The Record" magazines, but they're buried somewhere in the garage.

Thanks for the feedback, Mister Moon and Doc. There are many nice stories in these Elvis The Record magazines by the people that were close to Elvis.
