Oh, Lilla Anderson is kind of a frothy writer, but little bits of core information do appear in her piece on Elvis.
Most strikingly this is apparent when she writes "He only appeared twice in school entertainments." That corresponds with my deep discussion of Presley appearing in two talent presentations at Humes High in 1953, not just one, as the legend has long insisted.

We are also again reminded that Paramount's Charlotte Clary directed his screen tests, both the song (miming to "Blue Suede Shoes") and script ("two heavy dramatic scenes from 'The Rainmaker'").
Interesting as well is how Anderson goes into detail on "his last session," including the master performance being a splice of two different takes, and Elvis' "low notes were full and round." Of course, the session is the one that took place in Nashville on April 14th and yielded "I Want You, I Need You, I Love You."
Thanks so much.
