Re: The Night the Joint Rocked (1957 article)
There were several photos from the show Elvis saw that were new to me, as was the information about him dating dancer Carlyn Frantz.
She even appears in two photos!
At the Riviera in Las Vegas to see Liberace - Wednesday, November 14, 1956
The photos with the headliner were taken after the show was over.
Further research seems to indicate Franz was a dancer at the Hotel Sahara, and roommates with Dottie Harmony. And she probably wasn't "dating" Presley, at least not in the way he dated Harmony. Identified as a "New York model," Carlyn got married the following February.
Thanks as always.

WHEN IS A HONEYMOON not a honeymoon? When the bride stays home and that's exactly what's happening when New York model Carlyn Frantz marries Frankie D'Amore on Feb. 3. The next day the bridegroom takes off for Australia with Frank Sinatra's troupe and the bride can't go because the entertainers aren't allowed to bring wives!
Oh, well, Carlyn can enjoy her wedding day because one of the most conspicuous guests will be Elvis Presley. He's steady dating the bride's roommate, Dotty Harmony. On top of this, the groom-to-be's father, Patsy D'Amore, of the Villa Capri, is doing the wedding cake and supper trimmings.

Re: The Night the Joint Rocked (1957 article)
And ... apparently the Australian tour set up for Sinatra in February 1957 never happened.
So did dancer/model Carlyn Frantz and her new husband, comedian Frankie D'Amore, end up taking that honeymoon? We may never know, but it's for certain that Elvis did not attend their wedding, despite the claim made by columnist Louella O. Parsons.
Lee Gordon's scheduled second tour by Frank Sinatra, booked for mid-February 1957, ended in disaster when Sinatra abruptly cancelled just two days before the scheduled opening night.
Sinatra apparently did not want to go on the tour, and on the pretext that his friend, songwriter Jimmy Van Heusen, was unable to get a seat on the flight to Australia, Sinatra cancelled the tour (it was also rumoured that Sinatra had simply decided to abandon the tour to play golf with Sammy Davis, Jr.).
Gordon was reported to have been in Hollywood at the time and that spent several days fruitlessly trying to communicate with Sinatra in Honolulu in hopes of saving the tour.
