Thanks for this latest share. As always, it is a very interesting read!
Wow, this story from Ada Tschechowa (Vera's mom) is an odd one. The entire thing comes off like a rant on Elvis and friends Lamar Fike and Cliff Gleaves, but at the end mom realizes they were not so bad compared with who Vera later chose to associate with. I do not believe the three fellows spent a week at Ada's house, but the rest of her memory rings very true. It was interesting to learn that Ada was the driving force behind her daughter meeting and dating Elvis in Germany.
One thing not mentioned is that she was also an actress just like her parents, Olga Tschechowa and Michael Chekhov.

For all the talk about problem men in the article, Ada burned through three marriages. The third brought her daughter Vera. Sadly, Ada would perish in January 1966 at the age of 49, a plane crash victim.
