NEW INTERVIEW FOUND: March 29, 1957 (St. Louis)

Post by MikeFromHolland »

honor to whom honor

About two years ago DrJohnCarpenter discovered a "new" interview, done by DJ Ron Lipe. Here is his original post:

Elvis at Graceland with DJ Ron Lipe 1960
http://www.elvis-collectors.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=77640&p=1186065#p1186065

No one seems to remember that, unfortunately.

And please, do note: this interview has actually been done for WIBV Radio in St. Louis.

On March 29, 1957 Elvis performed at the Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis.

Elvis sang:
Heartbreak Hotel
Rip It Up
Paralyzed
All Shook Up
Hound Dog

According to http://www.keithflynn.com/essential_lists/interviews-1950s.html Elvis had a press-conference that day, but this is unreleased.

That day however, Elvis had also an interview with DJ "Uncle Buck" (Ron Lipe).

The interview was Aired somewhat later, but was indeed recorded on March 29, 1957 when Elvis arrived at the Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis.

Direct link to the audio:

Found on: http://www.stlbook.com/pages/1960s/10_15.html

As you can see, the interview lasts 3'34. Enjoy!

That's a pity. The sound is crisp and clear here on my PC. Don't know how to solve that for you...

I have no YT channel so I hope someone will. I remember there was a channel with solely interviews on them. That would be a nice spot.

The best is his fantastioc andquite modest answer to the question which included the guy saying Elvis helped pay the way for a lot of artists on his field.

Game over.

Thanks for doing this. I couldn't get it from the link Mike posted at the start of the thread.

Can't believe it is so clear and well recorded.

Thanks, SteamrollerBlues.
