Fabulous. Some were new to me.
But many pictures are shown here 2 or 3 or even 4 times.
Some are reversed.
And a few are not from wertheimer but from the Popsie photographer.

Can it be that you're confusing this post with this one:

Recording Session July 2, 1956 - and more ...
http://www.elvis-collectors.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=91833&view=unread#p1464140

The last one is in the ALL Elvis section, with links to other "Recording Sessions" topics.

Your (and other's) input and comments are highly appreciated by me!

Ok, if so than I deeply apologize to everyone.
Cause the 2 threads were identical with the pictures(maybe not a good idea;-))

I've become fascinated with these pictures because of the significance of the recording session so I want to share with you other photos that I've found. If I'm not wrong he was recording Don't be Cruel (?). Hope we can continue this wonderful thread!

These are mostly photos by Al Wertheimer, and likely show Presley singing "Hound Dog."

When Elvis cut "Don't Be Cruel" he added some percussion at the same time, slapping his right hand on the back of his acoustic guitar. Ace RCA New York engineer Ernie Oelrich added a second microphone to make sure this made the mix, and it is the most prominent thing in the record, after Elvis' perfect lead vocal.

Thanks for the response, Doc! The reason why I brought this up was because after looking at all the photos, I noticed that the ones that are supposedly from when he was recording Don't be Cruel Elvis wasn't using the guitar. This is was led me to believe that the photos are in fact from the Hound Dog session. Even Al Wertheimer's website has listed them incorrect, unless we're missing something. I wonder if all these colour photographs are available to the public (?).

Wertheimer took almost 4,000 photos of Elvis in 1956, so I suspect there are many yet unseen. That said, I also suspect that we have likely seen the very best of this archive by now.
