You know, that version of "Dixie" and uh, the "Battle Hymn of the Republic," it's so beautiful!
The band he's put together is so over-the-top, and only Elvis would have that kinda spending power, and just audacious craziness. Choirs, and orchestras, and a great rhythm section, maybe another gospel group on the side. None of it makes sense until you suddenly hear something like that, and they're all playing a role in that, and it's very moving music. That's the pure joy of music in the man. You know, that's when I see everything stop.

Viva el vino, viva el dinero, viva, viva el amor!!.
My teenage kids would, they have been to Graceland many times since they were babies and very much enjoy everything about being there and Memphis itself.
I would work there also if i needed a job, or if i was retired and felt up to working still.

You jest, but this would be an improvement.
My experience of the retail and tour staff at Graceland is one of indifference, and complete lack of "brand knowledge". They could have been working anywhere. I certainly didn't feel like the staff particularly cared that they were working at Graceland.
I was touring Graceland with my first wife in 1984. Granted, she was a looker and everywhere we went, people noticed....so we're in the backyard at Graceland and the guide goes, " Have you ever considered working here, we need help"? By this time I'm livid, we were living in Memphis at the time and I would have mowed the grass for free! Needless to say, my attitude ruined the "potential" interview.....looking back I was an idiot!

Word on the street has always been that they don't want to hire fans. I used to think this was a big mistake, but after numerous visits to Graceland, I'm beginning to see the wisdom of this approach.
The tour is guided/narrated by John Stamos using the latest technology. Actual physical encounters include the parking lot attendants, the ticket sellers, the shuttle drivers, the shop clerks, and the food service staff. Overall, I think they do an amazing job.
