Perhaps posted before in this topic, but all pics are gone:

Collected from different sites:

And the Tree of Life Tree pendant he is wearing, given to Elvis by some of his friends on his 30th birthday:

A bit bigger:
Tree of Life Pendant.jpg
This pendant was designed as a family tree. It had Elvis Presley engraved along the trunk and the names, Billy Smith, Harry Levitch, Alan Fortas, Joe Esposito, Richard Davis, Mike Keeton, Marty Lacker, forming the limbs intersecting with the letters on the trunk, further inscribed with the verse “like a tree planted by the water that bringeth forth fruit in his season”, ( this is from Psalm 1 part of verse 3, the rest of the verse is “his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”)
The pendant is dated January 8th 1965, the reverse engraved “And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free” in English, Hebrew and Latin (taken from the Bible - John 8:32)

It was made in 10 karat gold suspended from a rope chain.

The design was conceived by Marty Lacker and Elvis cherished this pendant and wore it until the time of his death.

Another pictures with him wearing it:

When I first saw these candids in Sean Shaver's The Life of Elvis Presley, I was very surprised to learn they were taken in May 1965, I thought it was from much earlier. But once you notice one of the ladies holding a copy of the Girl Happy LP, that notion is gone. The story goes Elvis was asleep when the girls came by, but something they said got one of his assistants to wake him up and meet them.

At the time of these shots Presley had finished the "Frankie and Johnny" recording sessions, with filming imminent and "Paradise, Hawaiian Style" next in line. He'd soon gain a great deal of weight prior to starting that Paramount flick in the summer, a huge red flag as to his feelings regarding his career in mid-1965.

Thanks for the extra info!

He hadn't even started. Principal photography on Frankie & Johnny started about a week later.

Yup, at the time of the photos, assuming this date is correct, he'd only finished the soundtrack work:

Updated my post, thanks.

Wow. Elvis looks great in those photos. A lot better than he did in his movies of the time.

As always, you bring something awesome to the table. Thank you for sharing a bit more on the May 1965 meeting we see in the photos above. It's neat to learn the names of these fans.

And the article includes a photo I've not seen before!

From an older topic, super-fan Alexandria "Sandi" Miller posted some details about this fan visit:

Some background on this set - it was taken at the Perugia Way house. One of the girls pictured was on her way home after a visit to Calif. and still had not met Elvis so Jill *the gal standing next to Elvis with the long brown hair) knocked on the door of the house (you could do that back then) and Jerry answered and she explained the situation. He said Elvis was sleeping but he'd check......probably because they all knew Jill (she is the girl that Elvis talked out of dropping out of school). Next thing you know, the door opens up and there stands Elvis, barefoot, and obviously had not been awake for long...he signed everyone's items, posed for photos and that girl left Calif. very happy!

Today on eBay I found another copy of one of the candids -- albeit printed by the photo store in reverse -- but with details on the backside by Jillayne Stark, Vice-President of "The Sound of Elvis" EPFC in Huntington Beach, CA:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/395173473528

So we finally have names to attached to the girls we see who visited that long-ago Sunday:

Jillayne Stark
Sheri Hall
Donna Rinkler
Judy McPhail

According to Jillayne's magazine story, it was Donna Rinkler who "was on her way home after a visit to Calif."

Did they get Elvis to sing "Barefoot Ballad"? Heh.

Where are they today, are they even still here? The photo is almost 59 years old! Time flies . . .

Below is the photo, including a correction of the image to proper view.

I tried to make a small color correction, and put the photo back in the right format.
