Thanks for the link. The 1961 Duke University yearbook, called the Chanticleer, includes a nice, new shot of their football team meeting Elvis on the set of "Wild in the Country."

Unfortunately the caption, which does not even mention Elvis by name, is pretty condescending. One of the yearbook editors was clearly not an Elvis Presley fan.

The team was in town to play UCLA in a nationally-televised football game, on Saturday, December 3, 1960, a contest they lost, 27-6. According to newspaper reports, they visited the day before, on Friday, December 2nd.

Here's another shot:

Some later suggested that the team had "too much fun" while in Los Angeles. But they did go on to win their Cotton Bowl game a month later, on Monday, January 2, 1961.

“We visited a movie lot and were introduced to Elvis Presley,” Bumgarner said. “He was in the middle of shooting his first movie – Wild In the Country. He was quite a nice fellow. He warned us, ‘All you good looking boys have to be careful on a movie lot.’

"One of us said something about ‘Yeah, there sure are a lot of pretty girls around.’ And he answered, ‘I’m not talking about the girls.’ We visited Disneyland and did all these other things. I don’t think anybody took the game seriously.”

I think a blazer is traditionally double breasted, whereas a sport jacket (as they call it in USA) is single.

Great photos - love the line about it not being the girls the good looking boys had to watch out for on a movie lot!

The set visit was well-covered in the national press on the day of the game, below is one example:
