I posted up that same image back in 2012, and identified everyone in the photo, plus the date and location. The second one is cropped to remove the fellow to Elvis' right.

With Chris Ellis, Chris Slade and Tom Jones, Flamingo Hotel, Las Vegas - June 1969
Photo:
Peter C. Borsari

Chris Ellis was Tom's personal assistant, Chris Slade was Tom's current drummer.
Slade went on to drum with Manfred Mann's Earth Band, Gary Numan, AC/DC and others.

I suspect all the shots from this day are in color. There are a bunch, and Elvis looks like a tanned Greek God in every single one.

Here's a shot with the photographer, Peter C. Borsari:

According to Mr. Borsari, Some were in Color, Most were B&W. All were stolen when he submitted them to Screen Gems for the "Elvis & Tom" mag. Here's the only known Color indoor group shot...

Because the images of the other three men are almost identical, indicating they were taken just seconds apart, and the dimensions of the photo in question crops exactly where Chris Ellis would be standing. Many of the photos from this visit are cropped. It's not rocket science.

I believe it was on C. Slade's website that he requested that photo. I think it was meant to be a 3-person pic, like the Borsari pic. We got the pic either off of Bosari's, or Slade's site & it was just of the 3. Was the last comment really necessary??
I learned & tried to pm you our eaddy to send you the color pic, but when I hit submit, it said you have pm off. I tried!
btw, you're welcome for the info, pics & effort!

Yeah, my pm is a problem. No worries.

Didn't mean to offend, just wanted to emphasize that my experience strongly suggests that the photo in question is cropped.

On your "ELVIS & TOM" page you might want to correct the 1965 date. Their first face-to-face meeting came by Elvis' request, on the Paramount set of "Paradise, Hawaiian Style" on Wednesday, September 29, 1965, during a break from filming the helicopter sequence for "A Dog's Life."

Another crossover is that while Tom Jones was headlining the Flamingo, comedian Sammy Shore opened for him. On July 31st, Sammy was the comedian opening Elvis' show at the International. That's not a coincidence.

Also, according to Guralnick and Jørgensen, Elvis was in Las Vegas from June 16, 1969 (Mon) to June 21, 1969 (Sat), so the photos with Tom were taken then, not earlier. Here are a few more I have:

Thx for the explanation. No offense taken. Just trying to find a way to share the shot.

As I said, Slade requested a pic with EP & TJ. I believe thats the 1 & only shot. Borsari either focused in, &/or Ellis took a step away. Since the 3-ppl pic was posted on Slade &/or Borsari site, I don't believe THAT pic was cropped.

Yes, your descrip of the '1st meet' is spot on. It's been told a million times by TJ... down to EP singing With These Hands as they approached 1 another. Most of our pics were posted when we opened the site 13 yrs ago, in 2010. I don't have all sources to memory. I believe we got the pic & date from our dear departed friend, Phil Gelormine (RIP) aka. Phil Goldmine. I think you'll find it posted in 1 of his early Elvis World.

The Sammy Shore crossover we had not realized. Interesting! Thank You! Just 1 more piece of proof, as if we needed any more, how tight King E & Sir TJ were. Same comedian, same backing singers, recorded & preformed the same songs at the same time, the # of times they shared the same stage, on vacation together, compared dance moves & the beat goes on & on & on... TJ is BACK touring the good ol' USA! Tickets $150-$1200 all shows 95-100% sold out & they dont even begin til May! This, with No US record release, or label!!

Forget Guralnick and Jørgensen. We got the dates from TJ personally, TJ's son/mgr Mark & Borsari personally. It's June 10th. NO question about it! You can bet your bippy on it! :) It might interest you that Borsari told us the photo session was done at Elvis/Col request. Not TJ/Mills. You might also find it interesting, if not fascinating & mind-blowing, that Mark also informed us that the jam WAS recorded. He told us TJ has the only copy & it's his Dad's fav career possession. In the last few yrs, it was reported that a 'jam' was discovered & may be bootlegged. It never saw the light of day. Many hoped it was EP/Beatles, but surmised it was EP/TJ. Beatles are my all-time fav band, but for my liking, I'd prefer EP/TJ! ;);) As The King said, with the Beatles backing them up!!

Thx for the pic postings, but they're All on our EP?TJ page :) btw, TJ is just as bronzed & God-like ;);)

'Assertion' 1 is NO 'assertion'. It's a FACT. Not open for discussion, opinion, hyperbole. You can drag a horse to water, but ya can't make 'em drink. If you can conjecture Guralnick & Jørgensen over TJ & Borsari, then all I can say is ya can't fix stupid. Then again, half the brain-dead country voted for trumpster.
'Assertion' 2 is in the eyes of the beholder. There's 1000's of TJ fans on TJ forums who beg to differ. Are they (& I) all wrong & you're right? Even Helen Keller would know the correct answer.

Your aggressive and rude response does ZERO for your credibility, or my patience. I've indulged your input, corrected errors, and this is how you choose to behave? Okay.

Peter Guralnick and Ernst Jørgensen's book had access to official documentation, including those involving travel arrangements, which is why my suggested meeting timeline in June 1969 may be trusted. You've offered nothing close to verifiable fact on the date of this Presley visit.

And the "great tan debate"? Dear, sweet George Hamilton. Any "beholder" may see what the men look like in those photos. Your position is absurd, but then so is your conduct.

Have a good day.

And your proof policing does little for mine. aggressive, possibly. rude, never my intention. just trying to punch a point across. sorry, if you took me the wrong way.
"you've offered nothing close to verifiable fact on the date of this Presley visit."... i'm not participating on this site to "verify" anything. as posted, "We got the dates from TJ personally, TJ's son/mgr Mark & Borsari personally."
do us both a favor... if you're gonna question my posts, pls don't. either accept, or move on. otherwise, don't expect a response. i don't need to be questioned & you don't like my responses.
george who?... only kidding, but might as well not be, as it's 100% irrelevant. i was only trying to point out your blatant omission of TJ.
nuff said & time spent on this.
if you're indeed 88y/o. ya got me beat by 20. r-e-s-p-e-c-t!!
you have a good day too!

Thanks for the share. The quality is terrific. I think we can agree who won the "tan contest" here.

:D

Even better, I now notice a pen (?) protruding from Elvis' right coat pocket, another detail which is seen in the other group photo that I am absolutely certain is cropped to exclude Chris Ellis.

What else? The other three are standing in almost in the same position, and see Slade and Jones' right hands, also almost in the same spot. Plus, notice how the shadows behind them made by the camera flash are nearly identical.

Below is my amalgam to show what the uncropped photo looks like. Both were clearly taken seconds apart, just as I wrote above.
