Re: Honululu, November 1972
The photo of he and Kui Lee's widow is from November 20, 1972. And, yes, there are some there during the three-day concert stint at the HIC arena that I wasn't familiar with so thank you SO much for posting!!

Looks like the last photo is also from that date, judging by what he appears to be wearing.Tony Trout wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 6:33 pmThe photo of he and Kui Lee's widow is from November 20, 1972. Re: Honululu, November 1972
Generally speaking I'm not a big fan of the November tour dates. They were of lower performance quality than anything Elvis had delivered throughout the great year 1972 be it on tour or in Vegas. The November dates to me were the first glimpse into what we would see from 1973 onwards.
He looked much heavier than he did throughot the year, his movement was drastically reduced and the performances of the songs mostly lost their edge. The suits introduced during that time also mostly do nothing for me. I think they are the first of the kind that were too much of a cool thing and hence ruining it for me.
With all that being said there are of course some good moments during the shows of that tour but nothing that would compare well to what he had done in the time from January to at least August (by September his poweer seemd to have vapoured so I leave that out).

I am disappointed that there are not many HD quality photos with Elvis wearing the Tiffany jumpsuit....with or without the belt. I have only a few good quality shots....surely there must be more similarly to the Thunderbird jumpsuit......so frustrating....

Some decent quality shots of Elvis wearing the Tiffany jumpsuit, some you may not have seen before.

Re: Honululu, November 1972
It does make you think with all the recordings that were done in the year of 1972 nothing has ever surfaced from these shows in terms of soundboards same with 73

Re: Honululu, November 1972
Yeah, it seems like they only started to record soundboards on tour regularly in 1974. Almost all of the soundboards we have from 1970-1973 are either from Vegas or Tahoe.

Indeed so.
I think the only soundboard from 70-73 of a tour show is from Boston '71.

Re: Honululu, November 1972
Aren't some of the April 1972 bootlegs also soundboards? Or are they mono fold downs of the multi-tracks? Nevertheless, except maybe these few April shows and the show you mentioned, we have nothing indeed.Edwin wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 9:05 pmIndeed so.

Re: Honululu, November 1972
According to Keith's site, a fair few soundboards were made on the road between 70 and 72. They must be in private hands or lost.

Re: Honululu, November 1972
To my knowledge it is neither the first nor the second. Those were taken from MGMs Nagra tapes and copied to be used on several bootlegs through the years. Only rather recently some material recorded on multitrack was accessed by bootleggers and used for stereo releases. With the recent offical release these should have become redundant though I guess.vinelvis wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 9:11 pmAren't some of the April 1972 bootlegs also soundboards? Re: Honululu, November 1972
I think the MGM tapes are of better quality than RCA's. Much prefer the crisper, more hard-hitting sound of the Greensboro show on bootleg compared to the recent official On Tour box.Markus K. wrote: ↑Tue Mar 26, 2024 5:24 pmTo my knowledge it is neither the first nor the second.
