'The Trouble With Girls' movie poster

Post by jon_burrows »

We're all familiar with the movie poster for Elvis' film 'The Trouble With Girls (And How To Get Into It)'.

But, where does the the actual image come from? It doesn't appear to be a publicity/promo shot as it doesn't feature on the popular EPSS site.

It's clearly an unissued shot from the portrait photos in the white suit seen on the EPSS site, taken by MGM's legendary Virgil Apger.

Presley's hair is a match to the ones on the site, if you notice that the poster image is actually reversed.

My pleasure. It's always possible the original image will show up in the future.

On a side note, on the EPSS site, it states... "The very last photo is something that was used to advertise the movie (as the title on it suggests) but the actual photo of Marilyn is more than likely from another photo shoot session (for another movie) altogether". I believe it's a pub shot from "Longstreet". TWG has always been our fav movie poster & MM our fav co-star. TWG almost wasn't made. Going through a number of re-writes & working titles for nearly 10 yrs. Thank the movie God's it was! Turned out to be a King Classic that's unfortunately under-rated.
