I saw this earlier today, and will probably pick up a few of these. Good to see that Eureka announced yesterday that they are releasing the 1920 Lon Chaney feature Outside the Law on blu ray in the summer, too.

Accused of being "a nerd in his 20s." I wish.

I saw it has an alternative ending added as an extra as well. My last Eureka purchase was one of the Buster Keaton boxes, so that’s a while ago. I might be tempted to pre-order this one.

I have quite a few of theirs still to pick up, including The Man who Laughs (which I don't like, but feel I should get as I'm supposedly a silent horror specialist) and the Loves of Jeanne Hey. I did get a the Indian Tomb at the weekend, but have yet to see it.

I also picked up The Phantom of the Monastery, a Mexican horror from the early 30s, which I plan to watch tonight.

Nice, I ordered The Phantom of the Monastery as well, together with La Llorona, hoping to receive them next week. Looking forward to them.

I confused The Indian Tomb with the two films by Fritz Lang Eureka released earlier (with Debra Paget). Now I read the new release consists of the two films by Joe May. So this might turn into another order for me. I’m interested in your opinion after you’ve seen them.

The Man Who Laughs I only have in digital format, haven’t seen it yet either. I liked the idea that this film was an inspiration for Finger and Kane to create the Joker.

The Loves of Jeanne Hey looks interesting as well.

I saw they release Vampyr by Carl Th. Dreyer (spine #262) as limited edition. I have their earlier release of the same film (#25). Looks like an interesting update.

I saw Monastery last night - comments on the other film thread. Yes, I get confused by the Indian Tombs, too. I haven't seen it yet, and confess it might take a while to get to it, as it's four hours long!

Yes, I went for the TV series version, too, for the same reason. The only problem is that parts of it are not in English and the switch back and forth is somewhat jarring. But I have to confess that I started it with the impression I wouldn't make it to the end. The coronation scene goes on forever. But, strangely, it quickly grabbed me and I watched it over two nights in the end and thoroughly enjoyed it - which is more than I can say for some Visconti films. I have both Death in Venice and The Damned to watch by him, but I remember coming away from Death in Venice wondering what all of the fuss was about when I last saw it - but that was a long time ago. I actually wonder if I have more patience now I'm other, or whether it's that I'm better medicated and so my concentration for those types of films is better. It could well be a bit of both. I'll let you know when I finally sit down to watch those Viscontis.
